Sep 18, 2010 11:11pm Question, should flash games actually be free? Good ones take as much time to make as normal video games, so why wouldn’t they cost money? Plus, the cost of the program required to make flash games is several hundred dollars, so it would also rarely pay off.

I believe true flash games that are truly good enough would be able to get a fair sponsorship from a game site and not need to get people to forcefully pay them to enjoy their game. However, if they get a sponsorship from a good site, but are trying to charge people to pay their game, in that scenario, the developer displays a high element of greed. I conclude by stating that while any good game can get a sponsorship easily, if there is a way to donate non-forcefully, the developer is not cruel and the generosity of some players can be harvested for the greater good to support the developer in making more games. Answer:Yes. There are plenty of other ways to get money. And the generosity of players is a plus, assuming the developer is on Kongregate with the tip jar or has a Paypal Donate Button on the game. show less |
