May. 17, 2008 For TG2
Good concept. A few comments:
1. Game objects should just pass through each other, rather than colliding and stopping. Especially trade carts. 2. Easy should be a lot easier, possibly less waves, enemies with decreased health. 3. Tutorial needs to expand on market placement, missions, whatever the point of those enemy horse and cart things hauling the gold thing is, and using heros to pick up enemy loot. 4. Make the cost of praying priests exponential and increase the amount of blessings per priest. (ex. 1P=1G, 2P=2G, 3P=4G, 4P=8G, 5P=16G, 6P=32G, ...) 5. Get someone who speaks better english to write the tutorial and in game help.
This game has the potential to be a 5/5 game when completed.

May. 17, 2008Hey, Just wanted to give you my two cents regarding TG2.
first off, great game. I've never enjoyed a tower defence game this much.
One thing that actually bothered me though (besides not being able to save) was the process of hovering over the map with a building to see where it can be placed. A colour indicator around the temple and another around other buildings would make the process easier and less frustrating.
Other then that, a few suggestions that I think would add to the game but are not as critical as the above:
1. I think temporary buff miracles to cast on the hero (or on the carts) like speed or invisibility or whatnot would be cool.
2. Perhaps a recall/stable option in the market that would allow you to keep the carts out of harm's way during battle (costing you income.)
3. A bestiary for encountered baddies, and perhaps a little more detail in their artwork.
Oh, and I agree withe the guy who said there should be a restart/abort button.
That's it from me, keep up the good work!

May. 17, 2008you don't know me, but here is my excerpt from the comments on temple guardian 2 that i wrote. this game should not have been released yet, the whole point of beta testing is that a select few test it. anyway i hope this helps
okay, this is a beta so i'm not going to rate until it is done fully. i like it, everyone who thinks it is hard then you don't know strategy games. it's meant to be hard...
defend all your buildings, make sure they are barely getting damaged, as i have seen it, it costs to repair them. always make sure your marketplace is alive and well lol.
1. Needs a save function (obviously)
2. Battle news should say Battle Report, it sounds more military like.
3. you shouldn't have to leave a space between towers.
4. make a building that allows you to build further into the map, like a mini temple kind of thing.
5. make a restart button, surrender or suicide or something.
6. skills for heroes.
7. make navy, air and ground units, like the hero but less powerful. (might take some doing) but this will make it more like an rts than a tower defence game.
8. Sort out the battle report, it just says NAN for me.
9. make the gold collection into a mine/ other town/ bandit camp, rather than just the gold symbols at the edge of a map.
10. a healing tower that heals the others faster within its radius.
11. when you upgrade to longer range towers, make the range show up (not sure if thats there, never checked)
12. maybe make it multiplayer?
13. make an actual story line, progressing every level.

There are still many different issues with the game v1.08.
The first thing that struck me was controls and movement. While the WSAD/mouse based movement were adequate, the character movement within the game was not. The character takes a little long for it to turn around the other way, thus it moonwalks. This is a detriment when you are trying to kill multiple enemies at once, especially when they are all in different directions.
Secondly, while the sound effects were adequate, the music, being a loop of only a few seconds in length, detracts with the overall effect of presentation.
Third, the experience system for the first 25 levels can be fun, since there seems to be quests to accomplish. However, the grind between 25 and up, can be demanding and time-consuming. There is a thin line between grinding for fun (such as feeling good later for accomplishment) and grinding for the sake of getting to *that level* which would allow you to progress. At around level 20-25, you would have already collected all but 1 mirror. And in order to beat the dragon to get that last mirror, you would need to have a high enough level of health to resist his lightning attacks so you don't die in 1 hit. This is where grinding for the sake of grinding becomes tedious. This adds to the idea that the game becomes a chore: something to play to finish, not to play to have fun. A remedy for this would be to add more goal-oriented content to add taste between the levels of 25 and up.
Lastly, there are missing items, only a handful of unique enemies, and a few available quests. I understand that this game is only the first chapter, as well as a work in progress. However, I can envision this game to only contain 20% of its final content. It really creates a lacklustre presentation when it is pre-released this far back from its final completed version.
I do see potential in your creativity, that's why I'm rating it a temporary 2/5. Take all the time you need, I hope to see your final product in its finest quality you can muster.

Jan. 09, 2008 mystic circle gets boring, especially because you have to train to such a high level to kill the dragon. plus, my file got deleted.
