This game has a fundamental flaw...it's only fun to play someone else. That leads to the problem if it goes dead, it will stay dead. I need to make a single player campaign for it, so that people can whisper other already playing the campaign for a match. That said, it's much more fun to work on Grindquest, so for now this project is dead. Thanks for the constructive comments, I'll keep them in mind if I come back to this project.
UPDATE: I'm currently working on a sequel, Grindquest cataclysm, that will be released in about a month. In progress features are Hunter class (possibly warlock also), flasks, 85 level cap, 4 new max level zones and raiding. Also some things that never worked properly will be removed to simplify things, like dueling and the character level lists on my seperate site.
I'd be extremely interested to hear any other ideas, particularly ones that would effect play at all levels and add interesting choices/mechanics to the 1-85 trip (as opposed to just max level things).
Good point Smudge, I'll try to find a good way to make that possible. Right now there is a sync state bug with healing that is causing crashes that I have to work out also, I'll update when I have that sorted out.
Any bug lists would be much appreciated, I'm finding it very difficult to debug multiplayer. Give as detailed a description as possible of what happened.
Thanks for your thoughts on that. It was something I played around with earlier and has done since as well. The initial reason for keeping it in this direction was because of the game its based on. When I tried turning it to see the effect it had on gameplay I felt one of the more important aspect of the game as it is currently disappeared. This was the Yeti. He became very non-descriptive. If I had decided on changing the gameplay further initially I would more likely have gone with a behind player view. But in such a scenario I probably wouldn't have gone with a ski game either. Thanks again for the suggestion though, I always like to hear people's thoughts.
I'm responding on here less often and more often on the forums but I still read everything here, thank you for your comments! I patched some minor issues today. Paladin will be out soon! Thanks for all your comments.
Ah...stacking. That will be a pain in the ass to fix. For now, realize that there is no way to merge them and plan accordingly. Also crafting will only work if any one of your stacks is large enough. Sorry this will take time to fix. Better to have banks with a small problem than no banks tho yes?
@chaosguard People tend to vote down things that have been asked and answered. Try the workaround in the FAQ. It tells you how to modify the setting in flash that is causing your problem, it is a flash issue, not a GQ issue.
FORUMS! http://grindquest.lefora.com/
The forums are more organized so you are more likely to get your question answered or post replied to there. I'll still try to look at things on here and move them to there. You can read the forums without making an account.
OK, whew lol, seems things got a little heated in here without me. I didn't have time to look at anything this weekend or Monday, which may happen from time to time. Thanks so much for all the comments, this may have gotten a little big for me to handle (This is just a spare time project for me). Things are actaully getting a bit difficult to sort through, I'd like to answer everyone but it seems with this many comments they will never see my answer by the time I get around to it. I'm looking into a forum right now.
My wow main was a rogue. They had their day though, agility scaling was of in the GQ beta and with enough agi your attack CD was 0...you could insta-gib anything lol. Druid is new and a little too good right now.
As was said, pounce has a longer CD than cheap shot. Crit can work on EVERY attack, maul has a cool down, and is more comprable to heroic strike. To give you an idea of where I am on balance, talents that may be too strong are: Rejuv, Master Shapeshifter. Too weak: Poison, Pick Pocket, Vanish, Rage. Honestly though I don't think any of them are that far off. Also 2H axes and shivs will be getting a small buff.
Nope its, the same. Haven't adjusted that since beta. I like where it is. Try adjusting your strategy to handle extra creatures. (hint mages my want to grind somewhere a little beneath them and pull more enemies)
Those of you not able to see all the tooltips, they all show up for me now on chrome/vista. If you the tooltip is cut off for you post your browser/OS. Thanks!
Druid is looking a little IMBA at the moment I agree...I think Master Shapeshifter is to blame. I'll have to see max level though. Don't worry I'll nerf hammer anything that is too good.
