Mar 12, 2012 10:47pm I love hexcelle arena. I have never played a game where I can make my own bot and ai to go with it. I do have problems with it such as math > equals doesnt work and i cant input variables into the greater than and such, things implode, cant play the campaign at all, things run differently depending on who your viewing, etc. Such as when Im a goo… show moreI love hexcelle arena. I have never played a game where I can make my own bot and ai to go with it. I do have problems with it such as math > equals doesnt work and i cant input variables into the greater than and such, things implode, cant play the campaign at all, things run differently depending on who your viewing, etc. Such as when Im a good distance away and the only person able to fire is whoever your focused on at that distance. But then you press space to switch over and the same person who wasnt firing all of a sudden gains the ability to fire from the same distance it wasnt doing it before. Anyway I have idea for multiplayer version of this game if you plan on doing that. Say you start with 500$ and each hex costs money. Then you go to arena and wager yours against someone elses. If you win you get their bot. Then you can sell their hexes for partial price and use that to buy more. Then you can build more powerful celles if you keep winning and work your way up. That way there is something to gain and something to lose. People wont just build 1500 point supermass stupid celles and will actually rely on building smart thoughts and effective tanks. I would also remove regenerating armor because that would lead to too many draws. show less

Say I have a missile line, I want the firing point to be at the center not on the end. And then this happens all over where the whole cell is a mirror image of itself yet the other side placed the firing points in different areas even than the side that is exactly the same. show less

I would play these games hours on end if it wern’t for some reoccuring, seemingly unavoidible bugs that compromise the playability of your games quite a bit. Expecially Hexcelle: Arena, which I admit is probally quite horrific to debug. Just to name some, I happened to run into not being able to play the campaign, through some error, and in both games I suffer from having to completly recreate my celles due to previously made cells shifting in differnt locations after a new cell is placed. Although these may seem small at first, repeated occurances with these bugs just take the fun, which there is much to be had, out of these games. show less

One thing i would like is maps you can create, which involve living and non living things, which further utilize the senses of the cells, and the grow hex. That way, you could create a predator, or a killer, which kills things and eats them to become bigger and stronger, but also herbivores, perhaps, which munch on small plants around these maps. I know it’s far-fetched and odd, but i like the concept :D show less

I’d love to be a developer, kind of working on C++… Arch, what do you use for Hexcelle? Like, what programming language?

Apr 24, 2011 6:53pm Hey Archi!! Why have you not even touched arena for so long? its one of my favorite games on kong, but it seems like its unfinished, it still needs a few tweaks… is there any chance of you making those tweaks, or better yet, making a sequal?

Mar 30, 2011 7:23pm Dude, your games are absolutely amazing. I feel a little stupid for suggesting this, but you should really add in Kong API support to them (if they don’t have it already), for no other reason but so that they get the attention they deserve.
