Apr 16, 2012 2:04pm I agree with wackieboy all the way. That game preoccupies me for longer than any single sandbox I’ve encountered so far, and I am still messing around with it and enjoying it. The fact that it was just a school project shows how great of a developer you are. Keep it up, even if you do decide not to making another walkinator.

Oct 1, 2011 2:05pm You should definitely add an option for rigid bones on Walkinator. Also, you should add the ability to adjust friction. If you did all this, creatures might be able to run!

Feb 22, 2011 12:41am Dude, you are a genius, being able to code an adaptive movement AI. There are places to improve in the game aspect, but the fact that you made an adapting “creature” is amazing. I am truly in awe.

I agree here, plus proper joints since right now it just tries to push/pull various parts and doesn’t treat limbs as limbs.

I also think a sequel is a cool idea since you have a good foundation here and there is so much potential. :)

Feb 10, 2011 11:23am Hey Bryce, I’ve got a bugged creature for ya! http://www.kongregate.com/games/BryceSummer/walkinator?creature=328133 This one is with double stability and yet it drives it’s entire leg straight through the ground, lol!

Dec 27, 2010 1:09am Currently learning Unity3D… Its an amazing engine, much better than flash for games in my opinion. Not to say that flash doesn’t have its place in the world(Websites, video content, etc). I was toying with the idea of making a 3D version of Walkinator with Unity, but unfortunately that won’t happen… At least not until I can figure out how to get the physics engine in Unity to run faster than realtime in a stable way with consistant results. Anyways, I’ll be making something with Unity for sure… I’ve got a pretty big project in the works thats completely different from my previous projects. show less

I’ll definitely put a post up on the game asking for more when I have enough spare time on my hands to get started on a sequel… Right now I’m busy learning Unity 3D… Something I’ve always wanted to do… And the recently announced contest on Kong gave me just the reason I needed to dive right in. Maybe I could merge the two projects(A sequel to walkinator and learning Unity)… Walkinator in 3 dimensions? Who knows. show less

Sep 7, 2010 6:14pm I like the music in the new drag box better and the difficulty’s nice. But I think you need to add back all of the old upgrades like shape change and what not.
