Yay, another chance for me to jump on the nerdook hatewagon, but... wait, this time I actually enjoyed the game, it's a nice touch on a genre that I always thought it had potential but that was always executed in a terrible way. And it has enough depth and challenge for me to never get bored, so good job. My only minor complaint is that on rare occasions my car gets almost stops even when there is nothing stuck in it. Keep up good work!
Wow this game sure shows no mercy to the player. Five of the records do seem impossible to reach and there is some imperfection, yet I enjoyed it immensely so 5/5 here.
You are such an imaginative guy; every piece of gaming that came from you is a little masterpiece in gameplay innovation. You are a real treasure for gaming world; please keep up with your work.
I'm mildly interested in getting the full version, but from what I've tried this seems extremely easy and not scary enough. Can someone confirm me if those problems are solved in the full game?
Great sequel, but the fact that you can get a gold star with subpar conditions makes me think this game wasn't tested enough even if it was on development for quite a lot of time. 4/5 anyway.
If you are going to take inspiration, better do it from a bloody good game. Awesome job, dude; fun, a bit challenging, thrilling and impressive work on programming all those interactions and events. It may have some small bug and annoyance at seldom times, but it didn't detract from my experience. Keep it up!
Adventure games are amongst my favourite genres, but I really hated everything in this one. There is a lot of annoying pixel hunting, you need to visit the same places multiple times to collect something that wasn't avaiable before, the dialogues are sexist and childish, the trades make no sense, sometimes the clues are accessed only on the first dialogue, you need to combine item in totally random places with absolutely no indication of doing so. You seriously have no idea what makes adventure games fun and/or challenging; this is only slightly saved by my love for pixel graphics, but even with that this is an utter fail.
Wow, this game is terrific; top-notch music, nice graphics, cool level design, thrilling and fun. There was a little lag on long levels, but still top stars and new addition to favorite for me.
I was a big fan of the first, but this one, even if it's still interesting, doesn't seem to catch the same spirit that made it such a great game. If you are going to change the gameplay to this extent I suggest to not make it a sequel, since you won't please nor the people which enjoyed the original, nor you'll attract the ones that can potentially enjoy this one but have been disappointed by it. Anyway, 4/5.
Ok, two extra suggestions on the late features. About wall jump, I noticed that it only sticks to the wall when the pig is starting its descending trajectory, when it should stick as soon as it touches it. About double jump, it seems not to work if you don't jump the first time, so you can't air jump by simply dropping from a batch of ground.
We've just updated the game (v1.0.2), now the wall jumping and the keyboard input lags should be improved. Please tell us if you're still having issues. And sorry for any inconvenience! Thanks! =)
Love the game, but I strongly suggest to add checkpoints; if you want to mantain the difficulty, add an hardcore mode and state that won't have them. An easier mode with checkpoints will allow people to practice the level in chunks and eventually try in one session in hardcore. Also definitely add customizable controls, since it's definitely likely that people want to use up to jump, me included. Also give more margin when jumping from the edges and when detecting collisions from saws. Still 5/5 from me
I enjoyed it overall, but it feels very generalistic; I enjoyed the puzzlish situations though, like how ice interacts with water and water with fire and I'd really enjoy if you'd extend that idea adding much more of those situations in your future game, with added difficulty. For the rest, sadly it loses against DH2 in every department, ESPECIALLY in boss battles, which are quite of a weak point here, visuals, especially because of the blocky backgrounds and map features, that could use some extra indications. I still can't believe this was made in 2 days though; if you'd use those 2 free days every week and you'd have a collection of games that'd put to shame whatever game developer on Kongregate.
Really nice game overall; just needs some work on polishing to make it become closer to a mainstream game; basically it needs better behaviour in controls (more responsive control on jumps especially when stacking, no randomness in the position a clone spawns at, etc.), some bonus features (like boss battles, trinket collections, timer for speedruns, etc.) and some fix in level design (probably bigger number of levels, some features that enhance the splitting gameplay even more, less lag when the levels handle a lot of items, some revamp in graphics too). 4/5
Love the game, but this is a step down compared to the last installment, considering it has less songs and misses some features like a song length progress bar, lowering voices when you mess with a note, animations feel less kickass; the song also feel a bit too long, the bosses are a bit of a letdown and don't count toward a perfect. Just expected some more interesting feature given the last games always got better and better, but I'm not meaning to be too negative. I'm still extremely happy to play through this great series once again ^^
Less songs?! No it doesn't! Don't agree with you on a lot of those points. Bosses don't count towards a perfect medal but they count towards achievements (a new interesting feature we added!) which count towards getting all the secret stuff (which is way more interesting than the final unlock in SCGMD3 which was just a message on the song screen).
Hopefully there are enough good things to keep you playing!
What do you mean in one saved game? I have 3500+ kills and I just played through the game once; still not getting the 1000 kills medal.
Do you mean in a single session maybe? If so, I'd suggest changing it or remove it overall; it's not really an achievement to be able to kill 1000 foes ._.
Not a bad game, but I think the serious theme is out of place. I mean... we are playing with bodyless people from CircleLand, a bit hard to take them seriously; the provided message isn't even that groundbreaking to deserve such tones.
