Let me be perfectly clear why this game is 4 stars not 5. I've spent about 3 days trying to get the hard badge, the closest I've gotten is 14 floors completed. Even a run through 1 floors takes 2 hours. If I had a save point at every 5 floors I could pick up at floor 10 and waste an hour or trying to get to 15. Failure to reach 15 from there would be frustrating, but not so bad. When I waste time repeating levels 1-10 over and over again only to die on floors 12-14, frankly, it pisses me off to have wasted so much time getting nowhere. And pisses me off to know that if I want to make another run it means wasting even more time. At some point it's just not worth playing any more.
Giving this one 2/5. This is the 3rd game I've seen from you guys that uses the same menu, just with different icons. You guys obviously have the graphics and stuff down pat, try adding some creativity to the menus. Also, this game needs a button or slider to speed things up, it takes forever. I'm not even going to waste my time trying to get the impossible badge.
2/5 - I think the biggest problem is that the playing screen is too small. When I try to select a batch of seeds I overshoot the playing area and I have to re-select, which wastes many moves. Also, this makes me select more than one row when I don't intend to (if the playing area was bigger it'd be easier to pick only the ones I want). As pacogoatboy said, the damage seems inconsistant, so some times I'm close to getting a "close call", and other times the tar dies well before they get to the line. Frustrating.
following up on my comment below - maybe you could change the discard so that if you get that card, you play it and it allows you to discard one of your own cards, thus picking 2 new cards. That would be more helpful to me as a player, instead of giving my opponant a chance to get better cards.
2/5 - Some aspects of the game are too slow (like card transitions), while others are too fast (can't read the opponent's flipped card before the next round starts). Card transitions could be turned off in an options menu and you could make it so tapping the space bar moves to the next round, to give people a choice of whether they want to read the opponant's card or not. In general, the thing I dislike about card games is that they are less about skill than they are about chance... whether I'm going to be dealt a good card next or a crappy card. Oh, and the card that forces your opponant to discard? Bad idea. I got stuck with cards I didn't want to use, so I loved it when my opponant made/allowed me to discard them. That card helps your opponent!
1/5 - I played one of the other boxhead games and was able to do ok, but there's no way to get the badges in this game without hacking, which I have no interest in doing. If you have to hack it to play, what's the point.
Save doesn't work. Also, on the bonus map if you try to restart the level the screen goes black and you have to reload the page. On the last level at one point the blue team simply stopped building an army... by the time I cleared out the stragglers and made it to their headquarters they had $10K and 3-4 factories... why they stopped using them I dunno, but I was glad they did.... that last board kicked my @$$ hardcore... need to tone it down some!
2/5 - The sprites pass through walls and bounce as if they hit a wall when one isn't there. When I kill the saws sometimes they don't dissapear, when I kill the other things sometimes they continue bouncing around inside the filled area. Once I had one of the things with tails just bounce off an invisible wall - and then pass through a real one, and fly outside of the playing area. I was glad to be rid of it, but that shouldn't have happened.
Way too hard. No brakes, and you swing wildly if you go too far left or right, unpredictably. Without better control of my 'vehicle' I have no intrest in playing this game.
