Tales of Symphonia is exclusive to the GCN except in Japan where it has a PS2 port. There’s also a sequel named Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World exclusively for the Wii. They’re both great games and I highly recommend playing them, starting with the first one because the sequel wouldn’t make sense and would spoil the original major plot if you didn’t finish the original first. Tales of the World is a spin-off series of the main Tales series. Tales of Symphonia and its sequel are part of the main series. I haven’t played most of the Tales games but I plan on buying them all because I’m a big fan of Namco Tales.
