You had me with this interesting RPG, old school graphics and simple gameplay then you lost me with having to buy gems with real money in order to really enjoy the game. I bet you would gain more players if you took out the micro-transaction aspect.
I gave up trying to get the badge. Should have called this an endurance badge. For started, you need to break this game up into levels! And show a progress bar, to at least give us a sense of hope that we're nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. When I saw your 'buy my game' spam, I thought "Well, that was a cute game. Oh wait, there's more? How much more?" *3 hours later* I'm singing Rocket Man. "I miss the Earth so much, I miss my wife. It's lonely out in space...". This game drags on, man! Now forgive me, I have to go shave again after playing this.
Like others have mentioned, definitely needs some kind of suicide button otherwise it can drag on. Maybe say some kind of penalty on gold earned for suiciding. Otherwise, a great game! Look forward to what else you intend to add.
You lose half your money when you die? Lame. Also would like the ability to replay waves to grind out some extra money. Those high end upgrades are expensive.
I'm sorry but what's the point of having levels if it does nothing? I get a higher point multiplier? Gee thanks, that helps me stay alive longer. No, wait. It does nothing. Why even have it in the game? The whole point of a leveling system is to improve your character, boost his HP, his stats, etc... Add this in and then the game would be worthy of a Botd but until then it's only worth 1 star.
Get rid of those silly mini-game races and add more real races. Maybe a Handling/Steering upgrade. Maybe more detailed descriptions on the upgrade such as how much more mph per Speed upgrade and so on. Then you would have a pretty solid game.
After having played this for a few rounds, I have a couple suggestions. Increased attack speed with Attack upgrade. And if I can't shoot backwards then they shouldn't be allowed to either.
This is a real fun game. Moves at a good pace, doesn't feel like a grind. The only complaint I have is starting over with nothing when I die. I hate losing my powerful gear forever. Maybe add a mode where you get to keep items when you restart. Call them artifacts or whatever. Certain items that stay with you through many deaths. Would help progress to higher levels.
Fascinating game. I'm currently trying to get all the achievements. I do agree with ruckus that perhaps having the achievements give bonuses in-game. Something like the 50 swords one giving you a +5 sword to start out with. Anyways, excellent game! Look forward to more like this.
