The vertical speed in this game is the most frustrating I've ever had to deal with. If you run into a wall while falling, you go at a snails pace. I got so frustrated trying to beat the platforming portions of the level because jumping felt so bad.
It's a lovely game, but it just felt awful to play. Maybe that was just me =/
It will be the thing I spend the most time refnining if I make another game like this for sure. Thank you for taking the time to provide constructive feedback, sorry it felt overly clunky for you!
I recognize I'm terrible at this game. I never beat the first one. However, I absolutely love running other people's designs they so graciously left in the comments. There's a strange beauty in the rhythm of a well thought out design.
Err, I have gotten every key from every room so far, according to the map, and the only way forward is through a blue lock. All I have is a yellow key. How did I screw up?
I think my biggest disappointment about the game was how much the strategy deviated from the actual music. Instead of making songs to beat the level, I made songs that I liked listening too, and fared worse than random-cat. I know it's difficult to program music tastes, but some levels seemed like they could be easily beaten with chromatic scales =/
Great work Dagwagin'. 5/5'd. I'm pretty embarrassed this got a higher score than anything I made ever did (we know each other IRL, and are potentially going to work together). If only I'd thought to make a game about ball gaming... Ah well. Nice game!
This game was AMAZING! The levels were gigantic, the plot was hilarious, and the finale was soo worth it. If this were an actual game for sale, I would definitely buy it. After three-and-a-half levels of whimsical shenanigans, I arrived at 99% completion (so close). This is most definitely one of my favorite games on the site. You could really improve things by adding a run button, Clarence moves unfortunately slowly, and I was a little bit confused in world three because I was afraid to visit floor "B". (Protip: You can visit floor "B" without ending the game, but don't go ducking into the bosses corridors before you win.) Needless to say, this gets a 5/5 from you, as the best platformer I have ever seen on this site. Needs badges, yesterday.
I am a terrible person. Whenever I got a boyfriend I didn't like, I headed straight towards a skull. My highest score, therefore, was the game where I was forever alone, because at least then I could focus on my job. Unfortunately, Juan was standing on my job power-up, in what I assumed was sexual harassment. Eventually, I just dated the first guy I found with a top-hat. Inexplicably he was a romantic rich talented dude, and I won with five stars.
My current life plan is to marry the first person in a top-hat I meet.
I see nothing wrong with this.
