I noticed there seems to be lots of tanks and Bombermans in Trial 2 outside of the screens right edge, and they only shoot when your unit comes close enough, so they are useles after the fortress takes a single step and slow down the game a litle bit.
they also seem to respawn if you manage to kill them all by wounding them with AoE spell or rushing inferno throught.
Because Hero gets too weak to have in the frontlines in later levels, maybe have one unit in the game have Fortress summoning (rank 2) and make so that as long as any rank 2 fortress is up, you won't lose the game, and your hero will resspawn. this would solve the need for castle for some fans, aswell let your hero attack in the later levels. Rate up if you think this is good idea. :)
i had same problem as arigold16 has, i beated trial 2 3 times and didn't get the earth dragon, so i started to search for the right map, after a few tries, i got it from the Earth culrists level, where you beat him. if you don't get it from that, try all other maps, youll eventually get him. :)
i defeated colossus by using these units: Diablo with turtle shield (keeping the additional enemies from my front lines, Black dragon with Hercules grip (for fast starting advance),Golem with turtle shield for tanking and easier starting advance, Vampires(mainly for regen, but they turned out to be good unit for slowing also), Goblins with chariot (slowing), Succubus (Damage).
For this team to work, the most important thing to do is getting diablo past colossus by using first shield on him, and immediatly after he gets past colossus enought to avoid the melee attack, regen. after that, only thing to worry about is keeping diablo alive with regen in the right side of the battlefield. good luck beating him down!
For me, every other than colossus has been a piece of cake, and "kiting" the boss with hero is sometimes key to victory (i mean running throuht the boss with shield on and using first aid at hero as viegraf) i used this tactics against the warrior woman and re-animated Beast of beasts due to their fast movement. I used mainly the big units with succubus to defeat them.
While grinding in areas below level 60, the three different map icons tell you which type of material youll get by killing monsters there. For example, Goldshire drops linen cloth, Dun morogh drops copper ore and Teldrassil drops leather scrabs. The higher level area you are in, the higher rank materials drop, like 11-20 Westfall drops wool cloth and Burning steppes drop Runecloth. i hope this helps some starters to get their crafting up.
Tip: Phoenix Strike gets lot more stronger when used with Hercule's Strenght card, just time hercules right and then look when your phoenix does double damage! i tested it with fully upraged phoenix (2000 power) and the results were really powerfull, it just wiped out every enemy unit (expect titans) on its way!
