Seems like no matter how fast or slow you beat a gate, you still get points for all the enemies. So going too fast won't cost you points, you simply have to score enough combo points for the stars. (In fact at one point I survived with 1 Archer and a lot of swiping, at one point the enemies stopped coming and I got zero extra points for winning.)

12:09 with significant RFI on 7/25, but that was because I knew how long I could afford to build Reactors, plus I employed floating Mortars to give me a hand suppressing the Creeper floods.

Yeah, 7/25 was tough. I actually had to move Odin City for my Mortar-only there. Haven't tried it with Blasters and without moving yet, let me give it a shot.

Bah, had to use Reactors for 7/26, couldn't do it without them with mortar-only. Maybe if I'd loaded up on a lot more energy for that push, but eh... -_-

Having to exit to main menu every time, as well as that impossible challenge to look forward to (which is a nightmare, really, because you make a single mistake in memorizing the entire game, or a single wrong keystroke, bam), I'm just gonna quit. Nice game but could be so much better.

Sheesh... I am trying to get all the outfits, and just discovered that if the trainer goes to 4.9s he fails, so I end up without his buff half the time... That's a really dumb thing.

Phew, because of the platforms in the SW and the horizontal distance the Creeper had to cover, I had time to score energy and get 3 mortars in before the drek hit the fan.

@aronbon: I never use Blasters or Drones, I only use Mortars. And occasionally you need reactors just to be able to handle the required constant downpour of explosions.

6/10 is really nice with mortars-only, leapfrogging the artillery barrage on the hill at the bottom, and finally bruteforcing the lake on the left with 200 energy stored in preparation of the final push.

Sheesh, today is tough with mortars-only and without reactors. I'm at 20 minutes now and finally midway on the center plains, have to constantly float a mortar on the left hill to hit the first and third emitter, so they can't send a proper flood down.

@kennycjr: I waited until 42:18, when it started to flood the platform. I had 1 storage, 4 reactors, 1 collector (to connect the mortars) and 2 mortars at that point. The reactors gave me enough power to sustain the mortars, so I could build collectors as soon as there was space for them on the lower platform. I suspect that that was what made me faster, because my strategies aren't that good. And yes, it was a full green-out, the same as yours. The rushed push for that was what forced me back with a few minutes delay. ^_^'

4 reactors, 1 storage, 2 mortars, built a drone once I took back a few platform layers: Ended up at 58:18 due to screwing up with the final push and getting forced back and even losing a few blasters. Don't know if I could make it without reactors.
