So, finally, Atropos is beaten. I wonder what new upgrades i get? - NONE. I wonder what the charged Warp Core does? - NOTHING(Need 120%). I wonder how to charge it to 120%? - Oh, just need to do all 5 bosses with way improved armor and attacks consecutively without breaks. Sorry if you mess up on Atropos 2.0 after 10 minutes of fighting your way through, go restart. Thanks no. And, FFS, if i did Improved Boss Run, i doubt there's be anything left in this game that i would need whatever warp core will provide for. Like, i did everything and achieved everything, unless warp core unlocks completely new content....and for THAT, it's too damn hard to even get there. Pass and lowered rating for that red herring. It was quite fun, but i feel ridiculed by the game now.

This could be a lot better with TWO small changes. First: adding a "radar"/notifier that warns of obstacles/shows fuel-could be it's own upgrade category, adding items warned about/range/distance shown. Second: horizontal movement split from vertical. Again, even 2 upgrade categories possible, strenght/charge(but not in burst-mode, please.) As it is now, you just go up and hope. No way to KNOW whats there, and falling down to pick something up often requires a suboptimal diagonal burst, meaning you ignore that fuel can and just go on. ALLOW us to be a bit more strategic instead of just lucking our way into the blue.

My experience with this game: * First level: Quite long, but fun. Small reward, but hey. That will get better, hu? * Second level: Wow, the better archers work quite well. Hu? Unit Ignore? WTF? * Second level restart: This is taking quite long...oh well, my traps plus archers will take care of stuff....90+ lives on final wave: OH, regenerating enemies with more armor than my damage value, and more than 100 of them to F*** me up good no matter how well i did before. Screw this. Same problem as protector had as of late: If i have to "analyze" the enemy list 1 by 1 for any immunities and adapt my unit list accordingly, then there is no "freedom" to speak of. I don't have a liberty to use units/traps/magics any way i want. I need to do EXACTLY what is expected to have a chance. So i need traps and high-damage units for level 2. Great. If i wanted ranged units and magic i'm pretty much screwed.

Help for people: In 2.2 and 2.3: spam turrets, no ships, get a thor launcher, replace turrets until you win. For 2-5: get only fusions in beginning, upgrade those, then start building ion turrets(or what they are called, cheap in materials, 200 energy cost). If your materials add up, get more fusions. Otherwise, just spam the same turrets in nice big circles around your base. For campaign 3: normal cheapest laser does the trick, make sure you have supply though. basically all the missions can be won by spamming the cheapest turret and some supply.

Its a really great game, but: The maps feel too short. Maybe defenses should be stronger/attack damage lower, but more costly. That way you'd have a feeling of overwhelming the enemy. In some maps i got up ONE starport, upgraded it, was working on my second, and all of a sudden had already won because those battleships pawned everything. THOR launcher is a sick joke. Spam some turrets, get one of those or 2, and autowin. needs a defense against. That overpowering thing just gets worse in campaign 3. Either you die in the first 15 seconds, or you won the level...

oh, and, i find it a bit racist that you you don't have to pay your mexicans perpetually. You give them money up front and then you own them. Abraham Lincoln would like a word with you...

Welcome to Banktown! Seriously: Very nice idea, but rather terrible execution. Aside from repair being a chore more than a gameplay element(have me hire separate repairmen and deduct from my budget regulary, same "effect" and less annoying), it's basically all banks as optimum, mainly because there is no effect, e.g. having a school and police station nearby could increase land value, and the bank "draws" from the neighboring tiles value to determine it's rent, while not having value of it's own. There would have been plenty of options...build a cheap park to raise land value? or a prison that pays high rent but strongly lowers the value? Still, looking forward to the Sequel if it fixes those things.

and still, i don't know what exactly which powerup does... -_-(which basically is the only reason i even got here...aside from the less realistic hope to get weapon or enemy stats...or am i just unable to find the bestiary that a game like this should have?)

"So, the robots are coming, to save our city, i need those EMP Parts you got there!" - "Sir, those are 50 tons of metal each!" - "Dude, everybody will die if i don't assemble them, the human race is risking extinction as we speak!" - "Oh...so...it's decisive for the fate of humanity, hu? Then you'll pay any prize, make that 75 tons of metal each, then! My name's not Silberberg for nothing...!" *facepalm*

Basically 5 :P But when i went for Emancipation ending, i jumped on the emergency defrost in trying to activate it and dodge the chainsaw. I ended up in a room with a huge mechanical egg and "Curiosity killed the monkey". I seemed to die in there a few times by being "delivered" into walls, then suddenly was back in the room with the defroster and was spawned in the wall repeatedly(next to defrost) endlessly dying there, unable to finish. Not quite as fun.

uhm. Was quite fun, except for ONE big immersion-breaker... He doesn't like him, fine. There's a new "guys", fine. But: He kills for free? Like, i'd expect to have a few lines regarding payment(and maybe an option to mess up there). Someone killing for free for someone he doesn't know that tosses him some info...seriously?

seriously? just a HARD badge for level 66? shouldn't that be an "endurance" badge at least worth impossible? nah, it was fun for the first 20 levels, but i'm outta here. playing 5 minutes or less(not equaling even one level that needs 8 wins around level 30) in one sitting is just not enjoyable.
Play Spitfire: 1940 Spitfire: 1940 Jan. 25, 2011
It _IS_ a good concept. However, it is FAR too random. I send two spitfires against 4 fighters and 6 bombers and shot down all but 1 bomber, with one spitfire surviving, and another time 6 spitfires against 2 fighters and 1 bomber and all of mine get shot down? Now, i have nothing against some "randomness" when it comes to things as air dogfights of the era, but SOME consistency would be appreciable. As would be slightly more options. Let my split my intelligence between finding intel and affecting random events. Start me with hurricans and let me "research" better models/weaponry. Make combat more clear and less random.(e.g. 2 rounds of fire, one fighter vs. fighter, second your fighter versus their bombers, their fighters against your fighters)...

same as many others...it was fun at first, especially once i started levelling up. To be honest, i didn't even mind too much that there was no "paths" to select. But after i reached the cap, it was rather "boring"...in that i didn't look forward to something. In that context, i'd rather see them spread out more, or even temporary powerups like shield or smart bombs...which would fit the arcadey-playstyle.

it IS a fun game. i admit on downloading the game and actually was considering buying it. But i got all but 1 of those medaillon thingies, and due to autosave in a place were you can't return to search for them any more, i would have had to restart the whole game, and some of those medaillons are NASTY to get...(6 vertical screens of spikes and back, without break or save, e.g.). that design flaw made me inmediately delete it and no longer look at it -_-
Play Ionic Ionic Feb. 15, 2010
needs some more balancing , but it's great already...make research slower, make crew useful(possibly they could provide auto-repair, or a small income boost, or man some defenses(like the automatic turrets you already have)). Maybe even some non-combat "turrets" such as habitat, repair drone unit, or research lab could be included(the latter would also slow research...) great work, unpolished diamond in the making.

As for review: Disappointing. going to play first one again. Missing: Upgrades, tactics part, exploration. Bad improvement: Level lenghts. I liked the shorter ones. Flying enemies+platforming: it's not even the difficulty increase, there is a continue and you can perpetually stay cutting, it just doesn't feel like an elegant epic samurai combat any more, rather like a cheap hollywood ninja action movie with jetpacks and laz0rs...the first one was a true "eastern" thing. Pity, really. Also, platforming just wasn't fun...sorry. It was manageable, but definitly not fun.

2nd level, platforms, bombs raining. an arrow saying go pointing up, nothing i do makes a difference. slashing up, standing around, trying different platforms, slashing at bombs. I don't know IF i missed something obvious or if it's bugged, or my flashplayer is not new enough...either way i feel i am at a dead end here.
