Oh, it could seem to be a wonderful place to visit, but it’s not the best place to live, though I love my country, Italy is afflicted by the worst govern and politicians ever seen. If i remember correctly you visited Italy some time ago, I hope you didn’t mind any political problem that ruins our beautiful landscapes, art masterpiece and also every good person :(

Yea, the politicians (read: Berlusconi!) are pretty notorious. How does he keep getting re-elected? Is it because there are a lot of people who don’t care who is in power as long as the food is good and there’s good football on? (which there always is!) It’s just that, and forgive me if I’m wrong, unlike Spain and Germany, Italy seems like a place where a fascist dictator could potentially come to power again. Top footballers can say they are fascists and retain their credibility, and even Berlusconi can be seen as a little bit fascist – he owns RAI and has been accused of corruption. Would you agree?
UK has its problems too. This new coalition government is going to allow tuition fees at universities to be raised to an incredible level, and the unemployed are going to find life tougher than ever.

I think that’s the wrong place where to discuss about politics and also I think you didn’t get the wole question about Berlusconi: he owns Mediaset but he can rule among RAI, so he has the control of 6 of the 9 (or 10, I don’t remember well) national tv broadcasters, also some national newspaper belongs to his son (and so to him), a national bank is at his knees… There’s so much shit to talk about, he’s big entrepreneur, he has a big net of important acquaitances, and most of all he can do rules to avoid jail.

Exactly, that’s what I’m saying. Berlusconi has so much power that it’s bordering on fascism. Perhaps that’s a bit strong but when you control so much of the media to gain votes and make laws to prevent yourself from going to jail, surely there’s an element of fascism in there?
