Duckets, I hope you will expand on this idea. For two reasons:
1) This is not really a game. It lacks conflict of any sort (no resource management, no goal to meet or enemy to defeat). So it is actually a sandbox or a tool. A fun tool, but not a game. Since you were participating in a gamejam you didn't succeed. However, the tool in itself is such an innovative idea that I would really like to see you (and your team?) turn it into a proper game!
2) You have almost created a new genre, now I'd say it is time to cash in on that promise!
There are references to a great old game in there... "Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders", must've been an inspiration to the creators of this game...
Alien invasion, a large useable kitchen and the egg in the microwave to name a few.
Great game, great graphics and atmosphere. This has some big potential, even though it is a bit rough around the edges (think what you could achieve with some voice-acting and a better user-interface and inventory system).
Overall: great stuff, keep up the good job!!
There is always more one can do to improve a game. Having said that: this game has an interesting story, nice little details, great potential and should really get a follow-up. PEANUTS!
Not really bad, but it will need some more work to become a good platformer. As stated by others your game needs a bit more work in the controlling and interception part (standing next to a platform will block your chars jumping for example). But if you keep up improving on this you can be a great game developer. I especially like the little details you put in this game like the leaves on the tree. Don't get discouraged if your game doesn't get noticed straight away and keep perfecting it.
Nice game, with a good professional ‘feel’ to it. It is obvious you spent a sh*tload of time in producing this gem.. but to me it is still a gem in the rough. And it is in big need of some polishing. For example: the AI is seriously broken. Half of the time my companion will only buff himself or me when there is an opportunity to remove one of the enemies. Also the story is way too flimsy and clichéd to draw me in. Battles are therefore meaningless and do not drag the player into the game as they could (and should IMHO).
The only reason I fight is to fill up a ‘mystical mission-progress bar’ that should not’ve been there in the first place. This way as a player I know, progress in this game comes from doing battles. Battles with enemies that get tougher so I need better equipment which costs more money which I can earn by doing battles. I know all so-called RPG’s work this way, but they usually know to hide this a bit better. In the end, you get a high-score from me 4/5 for reasons stated earlier. Maybe some update or future release will show your true potential. It is certainly there!
I am wondering, is it a glitch in level design that in the level: 'cliffhanger's revenge' it is so hard to shoot a ball against the wall because your mouse pointer moves outside of the game box when you try to shoot a ball of gravity to the ceiling in order to manouevre towards the exit? Apart from that good game, quite nice actually and refreshing gameplay.
I like this game. But must say, this game needs a replay button, so when I cannot get any fewer hits to finish my game I can quickly start over again, instead of having to finish all the rounds first.. this gets a bit tedious. Other then that: funny casual game 3 stars..
Sorry, I do not see the fun in this. The gameplay should be tied in with the music, that way it's really 'guitar playing'. Now it's just hitting the right key when needed, regardless of which song you choose. 2/5
amazing skills in game making.. this look so simple yet is so complex in terms of gameplay and such.. ppl like you should be hired by a game company immediately!! Keep up this high-quality and original work of yours!!
