About me…Hm.

My life as of late has consisted of two things: School and music. So much so of the latter that it is getting to be detrimental to the former. Previously I hadn’t loved much else more than sitting down and playing a video game for a couple hours with friends, but lately time just doesn’t allow. Between the excessive attention my schoolwork demands due to the program I’m enrolled it and the time I spend listening to music or browsing Reddit (my third pass-time), very little time remains for much else.

As far as music goes, I listen to perhaps too much of it. My preferred genre is folk and folk rock, although I do have a soft spot for a lot of indie rock, but I’d consider folk and folk rock to be my favorites.

Some of my favorite artists are, in no particular order:

-The Mountain Goats
-Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five
-Death Cab for Cutie
-Neutral Milk Hotel
-The Black Keys
-Colin Meloy
-The Capitalist Youth

And my absolute favorite artist is The Decemberists, by a wide margin.

As for albums, I don’t have anything like an organized top five or top ten, but I know my favorite album is:

As far as other musical interests go, my favorite vocalist is Colin Meloy, I can’t get enough of harmonicas and banjos in folk songs, and I’m embarrassed to admit that in all the time I’ve spent listening to and playing music, I’ve never been able to fully grasp the intricacies of music theory.
