Why on earth would you ruin picma like this? The old version was BRILLIANT, this is just a poor rip-off of minesweeper, with the most stupid rules I have EVER witnessed in a game. Kick yourself in the bottocks for me, and just make a new level pack for the old game!
The controls are good, though, but even they are drowned out by the CRAPPY layout. This game is ugly and lazy, and indeed can hardly be called a game at all. But still, the experience was great, and I really enjoyed this (at least up until the lack of achievments or any other "carrots" or improvements made it repetitive), and would gladly recommend it. Last time I checked, though, kongregate was a site for GAMES, and as a GAME this fails epicly. It still is fun to play, whatever it is, so maybe I should just shut it, but then again; that's just not for me =P
Somehow it's incredibly rewarding seeing all that glass break... The game as such is a bit static... If you'd like to work more on it as a game you could maybe add some sort of goal, or a chance of failure perhaps. Despite that, I find that I actually really enjoy this game, on some level. Looking forward to your future games, I hope you've learned as much as you can from this experiment! =)
I love this game, in all its simplicity. Loved the first one, and this is more of the same, which is still brilliant. But all those f***ing bugs makes the game at times almost unplayable. Rating: 2/5 - because I love it.
If you add the rotate function again you should perhaps include rotation in the tutorial. The tutorial could also be "click-through", that way the gamer could look through it at his own pace, and would be sure not to miss anything! So in conclusion, I think you should go through a "renaissance", and go back to your roots to some extent ("ad fontes"). This, combined with the new and improved elements (bug-fixes and tutorial for example) can make this game more "fun" in my opinion. There is a lot of potential here, and you are a dedicated, exciting new developer! Keep up the good work, and I'll continue giving you feedback as best I can =)
I see you can no longer set difficulty(?) or rotate the pieces before level 7... You should return those elements to the game, that would give the gamer more freedom to "design" his own game experience. As it is now this version seems more fixed or rigid, adding those two elements again would give the gamer a greater feeling of freedom and make the game more "fun", in my opinion (I'm commenting multiple times because my previous attempt of commenting resulted in a failure... the post was too long lol)
Not sure the score is too good an idea, I do not see how your game benefits from it. Also, when you start a level the pieces are sometimes mixed up together or outside the edge so you can't see how they look, before that was no problem at all but now with the score you can't click and drag them around so that you can see what they look like =P Perhaps you should change or abandon the score system..?
Real fun game, I got addicted =P And if you play it with proper external lighting there is really no trouble telling the different forms for floor from one another. Sure it resembles many other games (even to a suspicious degree?), but it's still a good game. For once you actually get what the description tells you: "an easy-to-learn puzzle game with simple rules and great variety." This game does not get repetitive at all, at least in my opinion, and it's an excellent time-killer (or history class-killer if you like =P)!
Not bad, but it doesn't really stand out. Also, when you call the game "France Jigsaw", then perhaps you should consider using pictures from all of France, not just from Paris and the area immediately around it (Versailles)... Or perhaps call it "Paris (and Versailles?) Jigsaw"? =P I'll give it 4/5 because I like jigsaw puzzles ^^;
Compared to the awesomeness of the previous "shift"-games this is a MAJOR disappointment. The good old simplicity is gone, instead you have multiple characters, gravity and a storyline that completely fails to amuse me... But still, compared to many other games this is still good ^^; 4/5
LazerBomb is right, too much loading. It's just annoying. You can't do anything except pointing and clicking. There is no menu or any other way of even selecting previous levels, you can not decide when to proceed to the next level after a victory or even restart yourself when the statues break, you can only sit there clicking and feeling useless... It is just like filling out your tax form, and about equally fun... With that and the randomness (aspect of luck) this game is, sadly, no more than a 1 or 2/5. I say sadly because I like the idea behind this game, and I think there is potential there. In an eventual Totem destroyer 3 I hope this potential will be realised, for the sake of the next generation of gamers. Because after this I don't think I will play a potential sequel anyway...
