Yeah, so work caught up with me. I’d like to come back to this eventually though. Or maybe we should move the official competition onto the game’s home site? There’s someone else to beat over there, and you don’t need to squint as much :P

Back in action. Couldn’t fix firefox so I installed Google Chrome. It’s awesome, fast and no memory bloat.

Starting to play again this game seemed really hard! I managed a 33k but it was pretty lucky…

Hmmm. So my browser got hit by some adware and I can’t even play! Just checked the scoreboards and saw that you have equaled my all-time strikes total, and taken the all-time wins lead. That was quite an effort!

Is the city-selection entirely random? I swear I see Stockholm several times per game, but Langzou only once in a blue moon. But of course we humans are notorious for seeing patterns where none exist.

Back to you again. A 700 point leap to 34k! I feel like I’ve got new wind in my sails now that I can finally locate Wulumuqi when the borders are gone. That city drove me nuts. AND I finally got Honolulu at 0km. Once.

Aight. Left my two cents. Now I think the game needs more cities :P BTW, do you zoom when you play? I do sometimes after a guess to see where the city really is, but never before.

Hmm. I couldn’t find where to go for the Badge recommendation thread! I’m not generally concerned with achievements but I’ll support ’em for this game.

I’m not done yet, don’t worry :) 100 measly points! I don’t mind wasting time on this game since it has actually improved my geography AND my pixel-hunting skills enormously.

31.9K, close, but not close enough. Yesterday a friend poured some ketchup on his plate and I said “your ketchup resembles the United Kingdom”. Later my girlfriend mentioned Guatemala and before she could finish her sentence I had visualized the country and pinned the capital. Hmmm…

Alright. Game on. But I’ve got real work to do so we’ll see whether I make any progress today.

Yeah, I think you’ve earned a break. We’ll see what’s waiting when you get back ;) The high score on the game’s homepage was at 34k when I checked! They play on a higher-res map though…

Oh, yeah — I get a kick out of strikes too. Especially cities like Alice Springs or Malatya that are in the middle of nowhere since I’m pretty much just guessing. I get most of my strikes on coastal cities and islands.

30,953! I had this feeling that if I didn’t manage to break 30k last night that you or Tasselfoot would beat me to it. Well done!

Thanks for the heads up, guys. For some reason I thought strikes give some extra score (they should imo), but at least it’s funny to get spot on whenever a city appears for the time in the game. I don’t usually pay much attention to the scores while I play, I just hit the cities on the map, bang bang bang :D

Yeah, gotta keep at it, right? I’m starting to see obscure cities when I close my eyes…
