The launch genre has become a little boring lately, so I'm glad to see this different take on it. Had me playing right through until I had upgraded everything and then spent a while in survival trying to get all of the achievements. Really enjoyed it, thanks Dev!! :D
Lol, I kept getting in trouble by holding space to put in the red x's only later to discover that space writes and red x's mean you get it wrong... There are also grey x's apparently that you access with "c?" key...
Be nice to choose to story mode without the story. I know that a lot of work goes into each and every text box, but if I'm completely honest, I never read them, but get completely frustrated by their constant popping up. Especially the re-occurring ones... Welcome to BAM headquarters anyone....
The artwork and music was nice, the storyline was a bit strange. Why exactly am I trying to find a bunch of weird stuff and not just get the green thingy for the mirror? Would be nice to be given a reason, even a weak one.
Had to use walkthrough to find crowbar, one of the mirror shards, second half of the key, etc all because of their impossible to find locations. If it's going to be that much of a pixel hunt, then a description need to appear when the cursor changes so that you have a clue what you are looking at. I believe this would also solve the "welding machine" problem. Nice voice acting be Jean Claude Van Damn though! Damn he's improved!!!
I think you need to increase the game's dictionary: For example, "smile" was the answer, but "smilie" "emoticon" ":)" should have all been acceptable answers too. The idea (I believe) is to discover the shape, not the word that "you" call it.
@Borismaneater, all of these maps are random generated, they mix between very easy, moderate, very hard, etc. You have to learn to move odin city to the best location, and as for speed up, there is one :D If you can't see it, just press "up" arrow key as it is the shortcut.
I really enjoyed it, but like someone said, it would be nice that once you passed a level set, you can start from the beginning of that. Maybe every 10 levels or so? Obviously you can't get as high a score this way, but it would be fun to play only the harder stuff.
@Stotty, this version of the game is really just designed for people that have a good foundation and just like playing lots of levels. Try Creeperworld user space for a more linear approach to understanding the game. There is a link just above
