MY 3RD PLACE POEM!
And so I stood at the graphite gates
To begin the journey of life.
As time passes, the golden rules come
Along with wide connections in the net
That controls us all today.
Trust is gained over the years
And love finally takes hold.
Then blue hats were donned,
And I was forced to move on.
People wept, and so I told myself
I tried, I tried, I tried.
So fresh gates were opened
Trust gained once again in friends anew.
My mother betrayed, and with my dad I stay,
Within the whitened walls.
With new love came new hope,
And up ‘til dawn I waited.
With the rising sun, I gave up hope
In the beauty of day to come
And so I said to myself,
I tried, I tried, I tried.
So here I am in the dawn of age
Yet with old company.
Another fresh start only haunts me.
Two arose, and yet one fell.
Along the jagged path.
The fall of one was the rise of many,
Yet even that was not enough.
So all I can say is as I said before.
