I didn't like this game. I was bored and uninterested by the 3rd level. I also had a thing go where I didn't see the missile guys because they matched the background and crashed straight into them. The game also would stay the same size when I zoomed out and zooming in it moved the game such that I couldn't see the top-right quarter of the screen, and I hate it when games do that and then I have to reload. Also add a skip button to the intro cinematic, seeing it every time you start the game and not being able to skip if you reload it a lot can become grating. I understand you are just how to do coding for a game and I think it is very good for a beginner, but I like to hold everyone to the same standard. With that said, I found the game boring, generic, and had a few unsavory glitches. Its a good start, and not the worst game I've played, but it definitely needs a lot of work. 2/5.
I enjoyed the game. There wasn't any real challenge be I don't think that was the point and thinking about it, a real challenge would have deterred me from playing it again for the other endings although it would have been nice. The story was well throughout and had morals and themes. With that said I would be lying if I said there weren't flaws. There are only 2 power ups with interesting mechanics but I feel they could have been used more or like there were interesting uses of it not implemented or explored. Replaying the game makes the environment seem bland until you reach the new area and makes it just more annoying to play through just to get the other endings. A reload at Admin or something would have been appreciated and cut out some of the monotony. All around pretty good but could have been much better.
It also angers me that it is like the game it is selling in the loosest sense of the word. It is barely an atom of what the real game is like. And saying he can't go over his own paint trail is only added to give challenge to this thing. In de Blob 2, he can go over his trail as much as he wants and it only served as what they would logically do. A giant blob of paint would leave behind a trail so it makes sense given the premise and there was nothing wrong about it. Here it is stupidly implemented and executed, would would he be poisonous to himself. I know I'm pulling logic into an internet flash game, and one made to promote another better game at that, but still, in games like snake and such it makes sense. Here none. And now I will end due to ranting too much, begging that people would try de Blob if they get the chance.
I hate this flash game. It doesn't help sales for the game, it is just an ad and doesn't even try to hide it. Its just so frustrating how this game won't boost sales of a game I love and think some should try if they get the chance, but that it only hurts sales and gives the game a bad reputation.
