The game also runs choppy for me, even though my processor is barely being used. I think you should add an icon in the game that shows whether we are playing perfectly or not. I have finished a few songs "perfectly" but only gotten a gold star from them. Maybe you should make the buttons that you have to hold a little more forgiving if that is the problem.
There is no doubt that hard mode is harder now. I only tried it briefly but on level 4 the timer starts about 3 seconds before you can do anything, making it harder than intended.
Do you have a "game complete" setting for the API? I'm curious about how many people are finishing the game. I think you are going to have to make normal mode easier if you want the rating to improve.
Maybe on normal mode you could start with one or two more lives than you currently get. That would make things easier for people that are quitting due to the difficulty. I'm not requesting that myself, but if you think people are getting frustrated then it might not be a bad idea.
Actually, on that run I didn't get any of the bonus levels. I just didn't die, I got hit but not enough to kill me. The only bonus level I could find was the first one but it was on the opposite side that time so I missed it. That is a good idea about the transparent fish. I didn't think about doing it that way.
I just played through it again and it is almost perfect now. I did a lot better this time and had a larger, highly evolved fish and that lead to a few starting spots where I was too big to see the first arrow of the level. Off the top of my head it was a problem on the level with the decoy fish and the entrance of the final boss but there were other times where it was mostly covered. My final suggestion is to move the starting spot of the fish a little bit, but other than that it's a great game. I give it a 5.
I finished the game now that you have made the changes. I think it's a great game and I hope that it will get a badge soon. The changes you made make things a lot better. The only other suggestion I have is to maybe add HP meters to the bosses so that you can see how close you are to winning.
Like Zantier said, the first button on the ramps with the big eye is always wrong.
I'm not sure why on the first miror level up and down are normal, but on all the other mirrored parts they are reversed.
I think you should add a checkpoint after the 3 nodes or the ramp. The bosses have some trial and error to figuring out how to kill the and it's not fun having to do the first part so many times.
I think a save option on battle mode would be very nice too. I don't see how it would be unbalancing or anything because you would still have to be careful with your item use or you will end up getting yourself in a situation that you can't win.
I liked the game until battle mode. I usually like things like battle mode but this one doesn't even seem possible to finish. I got to level 27, the floating robot boss. His weakest hit was hurting me for more than I could heal and his strong hit was almost enough to kill me in one hit. Is there some secret to killing him or do you have to be insanely lucky and hope that he doesn't hit you at all until you can do 500hp worth of damage to him? I also think you should take away the ability for monsters to hit you first. This is lowering my score of the game until it gets fixed.
This game isn't bad but the ball is too floaty for my tastes and I don't like how it doesn't always jump after it hits the ground.
I also got stuck in the wall on the first level with the diagonal moving block. Maybe you could add a level reset option.
This is a great game. The only problem I have is that on the level "Hexagon of Doom" I fell through the level several times as I was walking around the middle piece. I seemed to fall through a lot more if I walked to the right.
I thought this game was pretty fun in mouse mode.
Keyboard mode wasn't bad other than level E. Maybe you should add button to slow your movement for those tight areas. I don't know how many times I lost because I would tap a direction and barely bump into a wall on the last part of the level.
