As with many such games, fast mana regen is the key to victory. Except...it boosts each time you upgrade your mana pool in-battle. If you buy higher starting mana, the cost to do this rises proportionally, thereby slowing your overall mana regen with every upgrade. This makes it actually a disadvantage to upgrade starting mana.

For some reason, sanity gain from discarding resolves *after* madness effects, so if you go insane before your turn starts, you don't have a chance to recover before, say, losing your Elder and Arcane from Schizophrenia. I suggest having sanity gain happen when you discard the card, so that you're sane again before the turn ends. Otherwise, you have the paradox of something only taking effect after one's turn is over.

Restarting the latter levels, especially the last, doesn't help at all, since one's powerups appear to have to start charging from scratch. You will die before the first one finishes.

It would appear that dwarves can't hit an ogre if they've reached the enemy tower and the ogre's behind it. On the other hand, the ogre *can* hit them.

AND the final boss is glitched. On what I assume is the final step, the "space" icon comes up. I press space. It doesn't go away. I tap space again. Suddenly, eight copies of the icon appear all overlapping and I am dead.

Just when I think this game could sink no lower, I also find that the mute button doesn't affect shuriken. This is the first game that I've actually downgraded with every few playthroughs.
Play RagDoll Cannon RagDoll Cannon Jun. 23, 2008
Entertaining, but far too easy.
Play - Music in Motion - - Music in Motion - Jun. 13, 2008
Glitches make this game too easy. Level 1: keep running to the left end, you will eventually fall through the floor, and then if you keep running right, you can get through the level with no blocks (just remember to stop when the music finishes). Level 2: Stay off one of the edges of the level. No blocks will fall and you can wait for the music to finish. Level 3: Just jump whenever the area beneath your feet gets highlighted. With the number of lives you've saved, the boss is a pushover.
Play Chrono Trigger: Magus' Chronical Chrono Trigger: Magus' Chronical Jun. 04, 2008
It's spelled "Chronicle". So the menus give you no explanation or information whatsoever, the storyline is incoherent even if it's meant to be throwing you into the deep end as an opening, and I've been killed by a boss battle I had no reason to expect, no way to prepare for, and no means of saving before. Not to mention a battle system that forces you to perform constant mental arithmetic when Japanese RPGs learned how to give simple and elegant damage readouts about 20 years ago. The graphics are good in an old-school way, but that's about all I can say for this game. Maybe it makes more sense to people who have played Chrono Trigger, but as a standalone Flash game this is a failure. Look to the Mardek series for an example of how to make user-friendly menus and combat and keep the player engaged with the story through calculated exposition.

Instructions, such as they are, are wrong. The mouse doesn't perform actions, the space bar does.
Play Bubbles 2 Bubbles 2 May. 30, 2008
With the Noir powerup on, other Noir bubbles look just like normal bubbles, which prevents one from picking them up to prolong it. Also, occasionally, one or two mines will appear from the top of the screen after the "bubbles only" powerup has been picked up, leading to likely death.

Ultimate Bullet Time + Druggy + Bouncy. Man hath no more psychedelic trip than this.

Advice to all game developers who aren't fluent in English (and you aren't, if the spelling, grammar and syntax of this game are anything to go by): you have Internet access. Use it to find at least one native speaker to proofread your text before you publish it. Please.

The fact that a game pauses when you do something in another part of the browser is a work of pure genius - how many other games have I suffered in due to accidentally clicking outside the window and losing all control? Also, while the game itself is quite unremarkable, I love the writing.
Play Drone Wars Drone Wars May. 23, 2008
Wait, the Medium badge is part of the challenge requirement? So not only is this a poorly chosen game in a week of great releases, but the challenge itself is thoughtlessly designed? I've heard the reasoning behind not choosing MD2, but unless it applies to all the new hits, poor show, Kongregate.
Play The Several Journeys of Reemus The Several Journeys of Reemus May. 21, 2008
I've found a bug! Well, come to think of it, that's my job in this game. However... In the last scene, if you click on the spear after approaching the inspector, a second Reemus appears at the entrance to pick it up.
Play 6 Differences 6 Differences May. 21, 2008
Like it's predecessor, a uniquely beautiful and well-crafted game. However, I miss the surreal scenarios of the original (like the man taking a giant molecule for a walk). This time round, everything seems too real, almost (but not quite) ordinary.
Play Nano War Nano War May. 20, 2008
Compelling while it lasts, but akg2000 is right. If you can take one of the starting enemy cells from the beginning, you've all but won. The only thing I can think of is to strengthen the AI and perhaps introduce a time limit until which starting cells can't be taken.
Play Tactical Assassin 2 Tactical Assassin 2 May. 20, 2008
Very enjoyable game, though sadly short. Also, I don't think I unlocked any codes through completing it.
