Loved it. Very Lovecraftian indeed, except for the whole "heroes can actually win" part. Looking forward to a continuation. BTW: If you don't like your hit zone placement, cancel the attack and select it again. It will be re-randomized.
@unleash1: it's not just you. Museum still needs a buff. For example, with all but 2 badges, Museum 1 = 266 GP per day. Museum 2 gives +30%, or 346 GP per day, for a net increase of 80. Museum 2 costs 2150, so 2150 / 80 = 27 days before the upgrade cost is recuperated. Terrible, terrible, terrible investment.
I hope it's been mentioned before, but independent of the gameplay the smoothness of control and collision detection is far superior to any similar flash game. Does this use a prefab engine, or is it original?
Need some perk documentation. i.e. What actions does -1 AP Cost apply to? (seems to be just basic attack). Does +2 attribute points grant once per rank, or does it increase points gained at every level?
Tips for the super starbase: try to bring lots of missiles. Clear the outer moons first, but leave any armor pickups where they drop until you absolutely need them. Then hit-and-run the platform - warp almost on top of it, fire at one hex, then warp away when your shields are about to drop. Kill the fighters, recharge, repeat.
