Thank you for making such an awesome game, but most of all - thank you for letting me chose if I want to autopause on lost focus or not. I really appreciate that, as most devs don't give us that choice.
Another interesting concept for a game. This one has proven a bit too difficult for me. Didn't know what to do with the spice, how to board up the door or window (no nails?) or how to make a working potion... Maybe I'm no good at this. ;) Still a nice game with an original idea to it.
I suggest you add a fuzzy ghost location on the radar. Nothing too specific, more like "something's close" and "coast clear" kind of warnings. Like the famous radio from Silent Hill, but can be a light or anything really. Won't spoil the fun, but will make it even more exciting.
Great & unique concept. Meaningful although short. I loved every bit of this little game, from the relaxing and serene music, perfectly fitting the theme, to the changing environment and very concept of "waiting game" implemented in such an original and beautiful way. Great work scriptwelder, though I wish it was longer, at least twice as long.
ATTENTION, CHROME USERS! To (significantly) better your flash performance, do the following: Go to chrome://plugins , Click "details" to unfold plugins info. Under "Adobe Flash Player" you should have two or three files listed. Only one will be something like C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\ and the others will be Chrome's files. The flash installed in your system directory is the one best optimised for your PC, while the Chrome ones are universal (and less performing). Disable the Chrome ones and leave the system files. Maybe restart your browser. VOILA!
Things have seriously too much HP. That, or weapons are too weak and you do not feel like progressing at all, when you buy a new weapon and go to a new location, because monsters still can take like two dozen hits before they die.
Idea is nice, but the technicalities made it suck. Some of the things that are bad about this game: 1. Money does not increase much with altitude. 2. Upgrades come way too slow - it's a chore. 3. Obstacles appear too early. 4. Game gets more laggy the longer you play it. 5. When I closed my browser and opened later, clicked "Continue" I started from scratch. Why did the game not autosave? 6. COIN MAGNET - make it attract all kinds of money, seriously. ------ If you get all these things right, I am certain your ratings will improve.
Great game! I don't think the graphics are bad. On the contrary - the 8bit graphics work very well in your game. With the added filters you've successfully created a creepy-looking effect that most 8bit games are incapable of. This game made me feel... uneasy? Disturbed maybe? More than once. It's surprising, has moments where you have to think things through, and some where you have to hurry, yet it doesn't punish you cruely for failing (like start all over again). This game is both interesting to seasoned and casual players, with it's incredibly creepy atmosphere and original idea, and some not-so-obvious puzzles, yet at the same time being forgiving for the player's mistakes and being relatively short. Sir, you've definitely earned that 1st prize!
This game is almost perfet, one thing though. Why can't I turn off pausing on lost focus? That feature is sometimes useful, but sometimes you want to turn it off (like luring to a tower and waiting for the tower to kill a horde off - you could do something else in the meanwhile).
2/5. I wish I could give more, but it still lacks too much to say it's a finished and polished game. First off - penguin AI. Everyone mentioned it. Second: Terrible collecting mechanics. I mean, for starters it's OK, but later on you SHOULD be able to upgrade the collect radius/speed. And third - hotkeys for the "abilities" (speed, extra penguin, etc) such as 1, 2, 3, 4 would be very welcome.
