This would have been 5/5 if not for annoying little details. The fact that WASD and arrow keys conflict in my laptop, and there is no way to change the keys. No hint how fast I need to be on each level to get A ranking. Poorly thought out rankings in general: B is too easy, while A is too hard on most levels, and in levels where A is not incredibly hard it is ridiculously easy. Badges or no badges, I ended up giving it 3/5.
This game would get 5/5 from me if it wasn't buggy as hell. Come on, even the version number in the preloader that is supposed to fix bugs doesn't work: it switches to 1.0 when the record player scrolls right. No fo coruse that's just a cosmetic thing but there are dozens of little things like that in the game (advertising bar not going to 100, available funds not updated when you buy new stuff on build mode, etc. etc.), and a couple of real mood killer bugs like the one where you can't place stuff, and whatever you do just adds footprints. I'm sure others have already reported most of this stuff so I won't go on, but I strongly urge the developer to fix these bugs ASAP. This game has the potential to be the game of the month!
I didn't like the lack of challenge. There ought to be more specific challenges for every level, like using specific weapon or killing the people in a particular order, to keep things interesting. Also, limited ammo. It's no fun if you can progress with zero skill by just chugging dozens of bombs until something hits the mark!
I hate those levels where you have to jump all of the colors on a trampoline, and then jump off with millisecond timing: space, left, down, left, down, right... what is this, Street Fighter II combo?!?
This is the best Elite-like flash game I've seen, even if it is unfinished right now. I hope the developer continues to work on it and adds new missions and features! Also, it would be nice if there was a way to skip all the animations and space flight between battles altogether.
