Figured it out. The "Rose" is the CENTER pip or dot of the die. The "Petals" are the number of SURROUNDING pips or dots. For example, if the die roll is a five, then it has a "Rose" and 4 surrounding "Petals". If the die roll is a 4 then there is no "Rose". So, a roll of 1,1,4,5 and 6 has 1 "Rose" and 4 "Petals".
