Whoa, what a ripoff. Puzzle Quest was new and innovative, this feels like a sad clone. A well polished one at that, and that makes it even worse. You people are obviously not talentless hacks, why not come up with new ideas instead of stealing others' for your games?
-Notes for the final boss:
1) Counter and defense all the way.
2) Try to use its 1st form to lower its energy bar and fill your rage bar, while keeping your own health and energy bars full; so that you are in the best possible position when the actual battle starts.
Nothing special, really; and I beat the boss with only 82% upgrades done, I imagine it would be much easier when fully upgraded.
-Also, the score too should drop faster when fast-forwarding. This is after all a puzzle game, scoring should not be based on how quick you are with the mouse.
kongregate's people must have masochistic tendencies; why else would the ending spoiler be one of the "best comments" ?
Seriously. That sucks. The game on the other hand doesn't, but it needs some polish:
-Pressing space to start the level is plain annoying.
-Putting fast forwarding on a timer: Bad idea. It doesn't really accomplish anything; if I want to keep it fast forwarding till the end, I end up holding the button, and if I wan to stop fast forwarding I have no means of doing it excep wait, or press the button again in panic only to restart the timer. Pressing the button when fast-forwarding should turn the speed back to normal, and get rid of the timer.
-The music is quite nice, but you only hear the beginning especially in the earlier, shorter levels, where it gets boring to the point you mute the game and play your own mp3's. It would be much nicer if it were continuous throughout the levels.
this is a first...the game makes me not wanna get achievements: they cover the whole screen, and every time they pop up there is some delay which is unacceptable for a game of such fast-paced nature.
i didn't have any problems with detection; it's just that you have to press the button after the guy is ready to jump again and not a nanosecond early..Though if you need to elevate as soon as possible you end up mashing the button, which isn't great.
The prequel had some levels that did not require a solution to make use of all pieces, but this one is taking this to a whole new stage: The FIRST level has an extra piece.
Overall I liked the concept, but the awful level designs take away the feeling of accomplishment you'd normally get when you play a puzzle game.
I wasn't very fond of this game until I realized that I could just run through every single level with any one of the characters without using any attack. Then I actually started to feel hatred for the game. Useless characters, useless attacks, laughable difficulty(The only challenge is not falling asleep or causing yourself physical pain to escape from the agonizing boredom), virtually no variety of levels and gameplay..THIS IS THE MOST BORING GAME IN KONGREGATE. Thank you Greg, for not adding any badges requiring grinding.
And WTF is up with that "HD mode" crap? Was that supposed to be funny or something?
Great idea rewarding a game full of annoying bugs with achievements. At least the workaround works, for those who did not notice it in the updates section:
"If the game bugs out, or you have one troop hitting you out of range, or enemies stuck, click the CALENDAR beside the WAVE COUNTER. That button will cause the enemies to all find a new path, and should fix those errors if they occur during your game!"
i cant seem to get the pyrotechnics medal. i went through different stages with different sets of weapons and equipment without ever left clicking; still no medal.
