It wasn’t of course , the color was named after the country of india .A country very famous for its pigment colors. Crayola decided to give in to the politically correct people and re-name indian red to another name. They also decided to re-name another color ‘chinablue’ As it also had the name of a country The absurdity that anyone would get upset by the name chinablue is simply well…. absurd but the name had the word china in it so they gave it another name so nobody would ever get offended. My handle is in reference to these examples of the over-board politically correct non-sense that governs our live now-a-days The colors ‘prussian blue’ and ‘flesh’ are also casualties of the politically correct war If you have an indian red crayon, flesh ,prussian blue or a chinablue crayon , hang on to it as it will probally be a collectors item one day .
