In response to your question about the Heart Rate Upgrade, it waits for a few seconds then pops up with a scary face and a loud screaming sound effect (a “screamer”). Fairly dumb from someone aiming to get the $1500 monthly prize.

Oh, and it is possible to beat the boss, I just bought out every grid space and flooded it w/ level 5 rockets and beat it at the last minute.
