When a new dynasty begins, is the thing that it's famous for chosen at random? Or is it the same in every game? Or is it the same in every playthrough, per difficulty level, but different between each of the 3 difficulty levels?
After so many years of the game being here, Bloons TD5 has finally been released on ArmorGames.com. But be warned, they didn't include the daily login chest there, so it's basically PAY-TO-WIN there. It's far better to play the game here on Kongregate because here you can beat even the toughest levels eventually without having to open your wallet or grind easy levels thousands of times over.
For the sake of people playing the game for the first time (including MYSELF) there should be a FAQ that answers the following questions:
1. At what level can I finally visit other clans?
2. Is there ever any purpose to Exploring? I keep doing it but always get "Nothing happened."
3. Why are there never any mages in the Arena?
I'm told I can only increase rank by fighting in the arena, and I must fight 5 times before I can get in the Book of Mages. I'm already level 37 and I check the arena frequently but so far there has only been ONE fight. For how many years and/or levels must I pass by where pretty much the only thing I can do is spam the Mana Caves for skill points?
Does anyone know the secret pin code to unlock Adult Mode? I tried unchecking "Kid-Safe Mode" and it asks me for a 4-element PIN code. No hints, no mention of where to find the code, nothing in the game's description. I guess this is another minigame where I'm supposed to try to randomly guess which of 10,000 possible permutations is the correct one?
Hardest part of the game is rescuing POWs. Here's HOW to do it:
1) Start the level on EASY mode.
2) Approach a camp from the water, going around the coast out of range of turrets.
3) Spend a life taking out nearby defenses. They respawn quickly so manage time carefully.
4) *TO PICK UP POWs* you must LAND on the big "H" at the camp (Helipad). Blue dots will come to you. Wait for them to board, take off, fly back to the ship.
5) Land on the ship & any POWs in the chopper will be totally saved. Once a camp has been emptied, go back & destroy that area's war factory QUICKLY. Kamikaze is useful; you have infinite choppers.
6) If your chopper dies, any POWs onboard will die too. You don't need to get them all in one trip, so just get who you can then take off while you still have health left. *You can't fire your gun on the ground!*
7) Remember to kill any bombers you see over the water, because YOU LOSE THE LEVEL is if your ship is destroyed.
The achievement "Doodle Bar" cannot be earned. For some reason the game here on Kongregate doesn't allow non-G-rated elements to be made. I played this game on iphone, it's LITERALLy the exact same game, but on iphone i could make elements such as "sex", "lust", "alcohol", "rum", and "censored". Doodle Bar requires making all the drinks, but I can't make alcohol. When I combine Fire + Water, nothing happens, in any chapter, so none of the drinks can be made.
Kind of lame that we're given un-doable achievements here.
UPDATE: My previous method didn't work, then I found out you can sell the heroes' equipment and let them fight armorless. I did that for 2 of the heroes, replayed a high level, got some guards in place, and when one hero would get low on health, I'd avoid matching tiles of the same colors as him (because that's how they heal). Then as soon as he died I'd make as many matches as I could, quickly, especially of that hero's color (because that's how they resurrect). BAM, "Divine Intervention" achievement unlocked with a couple extra rezes to boot.
The "Divine Intervention" achievement is really hard to get. It requires having heroes die 3 times in one battle. But I'm already most the way through the game, my heroes are high level, and they almost never die. It's like I'm "too good" to be able to get that badge. I'm gonna try replacing their strong armor with weaker armor, and make very few matches during the battle aside from blue, pink, & orange (MUST have some soldiers to defend the wall after a hero dies!)
Ok, immediately after posting my previous comment, I figured it out. (Always seems to happen that way. Irony!) You need to RIGHT-CLICK somewhere away from the button (such as IN THE LEFT SQUARE), which will make that little menu pop up from the cursor & pause the game. With that menu still showing (make sure it's not covering the button), move the cursor over the button, then DOUBLE-LEFT-CLICK REALLY FAST. Somehow that works around the inevitable glitch. You have to double-click quickly, while the right-click flash-player menu thing is showing (thus while the game is paused).
First boss level DOES NOT work. If I right-click anywhere in the game window, it pauses flash player, thus pauses the entire game. The instructions written by the creator makes me think they don't realize that these games run in Flash. I also tried leaving the mouse cursor somewhere outside the boxes for a while. Nothing happened after a few seconds. Nothing happened after a minute. I went & ate dinner & game back, still nothing. I moved the cursor next to the other boss, waited... waited... nothing. This is serious fail.
Is it just me, or is level 4 SERIOUSLY hard? Last time I tried this game, I played level 4 over & over & over but could never beat it. Since the BotD requires beating level 12, it could take me over 8 hours to get, which is so wrong!
There is too little instruction here. And while I was trying to read the basic instructions at the start of the game, I was interrupted by several random events. A couple game-weeks passed before I even understood how to hire my first troops. And I can't build ANYTHING at first because we start off with 0 resources other than money. Couldn't even make a basic hovel because it costs lumber. And another half-dozen random events passed by while I was figuring this out.
But really, no matter how well the rest of it works, I have to pass on this game because it pauses when these random events happen. When I play IDLE games, I don't sit at my computer with the game open, interacting with every moment. I let it run in my browser while I focus on other tasks, and I come back every now & then to check the game & click a few things. That's impossible with this game because it pauses itself if you don't interact with it every 10 seconds.
