Jul 24, 2011 9:29am drak you can disagree with this but i think when you finish all the updates you should repost it. since it wasnt finished most people probably ignored it but if you repost it finished you might get better ratings and more people to play it. i only say this because there was a comment by a player that said they give you a 2/5 till you finish it

Well with all the exploits that may have been present in the WIP version it would not be such a good idea to port the saves to the new version.

Because idling would be like cheating. Whats the point of getting to lvl 99999 when you just don’t play through it? It kinda ruins it if you ask me.

Jul 8, 2011 9:56am hey Drak, thanks for the suggestions. do you have any idea how i might be able to add a “cooldown” effect on each of the items, so that you actually have a reason to use the smaller ones? also, i’m going to take your advice and change the things you eat on the larger setting.

You should make 3 vars. One for each button. When a button is pressed, the var goes to, I dunno, 50-60. Then on an Enter Frame listener that var keeps going down if its over 0. Then on an Enter Frame listener that var keeps going down if its over 0. ( if(var>0){ var—; } ) Then when you click the button, it checks its var. If its not 0, nothing happens. You could also put a text box on each button that shows its respective var value divided by the framerate you set for you flash game so it shows in seconds (divided by 24 for example). Using Math.round(var) helps to make sure it doesn’t shows decimals as well. I hope this all makes sense :P show less

Or adding different magic trees like necromancy or mind-control? I honestly cannot wait for the finished version. Holy crap, this is awesome/epic/made of pure rainbow. I want this finished, ASAP. Perhaps more complex interaction (A neutral village, diplomacy, zombies) and more units, bigger battles, and different enviroments, this would be awesome. Making a WW1, WW2, or sci-fi version would be pure epicness. Also, perhaps urban fighting and orders for units? I think house to house combat would be great, with duels on staircases and balconies, archers firing out windows, and explosions ripping apart buildings and the people inside them. This game has a lot of potential, I’m interested in how you will use it. show less

I’m afraid I can’t really go any faster than that, and there probably wont be a quarter of all these features when the game comes out sadly… I will keep working on it though, and it may reach that degree of awesomeness one day! show less

As some people said as well, you game lacks challenge, but challenge isn’t everything. You need to find a way to make your game more challenging without making it frustrating. Right now the obvious problem is that some shades are almost the same, making it very frustrating to start over just because you thought that shade was darker than the other. Also, your game lacks a bit of professionalism. The plain sky blue background as well as the cartoonish clouds don’t reflect the true potential of your game. You need to change your background into some sort of soft gradient, as well as some clouds around maybe to make the background a bit more complex than it is, but not too much as the game is pretty “zen” right now. The clouds definitely needs a lot more complexity. Right now they would fit for some kind of cartoon game, but your game focuses on complex art. Your design must fit with what your game proposes. You should check the “allow smoothing” option of your image files in your library (if you are using Adobe Flash CS of course) as it will remove the current grungy look. You should also make the images black and white or partially hide them until you remove ALL of the clouds because you can already see what picture it is before you’re finished. Other than that, I like how the game is explained to the player as you go through it, its something I can’t really do with my current game. I also like the fact that you show the art specs after you’re done with the clouds, making the game a bit more “educative” in some way. Alright, I’ve said enough. You don’t actually need to read the whole thing :P Nice game you got there though. It kept me hooked until the end, which is a good thing. show less
