Painful to play, really. I couldn't make it past the fourth level because i got so fed up of accidentally pushing two blocks together therefore making the level unbeatable, or missing the platform and having to just dick around for 30 seconds waiting for it to come by. Make the game more fast paced, and make it so you can pull blocks as well as push them, and maybe it'll be worth playing. But right now, two things make it more frustrating to play than it is fun: having to wait for the abysmally slow platforms to float in range, and the fact that if you accidentally push a block against a wall you have to start the whole level over.
Very interesting concept, and fun to play, but there's a rather annoying bug where if you open the settings menu while on the "you beat the stage!" menu, the latter menu disappears and you have to refresh the page to advance. Other than that, though, I love it!
gameplay wise, it's very repetitive, with very few mechanics. there's never anything new added besides new enemy types, which gets old fast. it's also really annoying that you have to manually trigger the doom cannon when everything else is automatic, especially since it charges so fast. i just end up hammering the space bar which is a silly way to go about doing it. also the brownies are just obnoxious because there's no reliable way to target them above the other enemies, meaning it's really up to luck to decide if they get taken out before they can start charging you money. (another mechanic that i really didn't like)
the sound design is terrible, as well; the sound effects and music were both obnoxious, and i always had both of them muted.
all in all, it's an interesting concept, but very repetitive, and with some poor gameplay + design choices.
jeez i thought the title meant "this is a parody of stupid generic platformer games with no originality that try to be ~artistic and thoughtful~ by putting slow piano music in the background and throwing text on every level"
but no, it was just another stupid generic platformer game with no originality that tries to be ~artistic and thoughtful~ by putting slow piano music in the background and throwing text on every level
The crusher thing later on in the game with the little d-pad looking thing on it is broken. If you jump under it right when it crushes down you can get stuck in the wall which crashes the game and browser. Other than that, great game.
In my opinion this game is much better than PR3. The art style in this one is much better, PR3 seems way too... well to be perfectly honest dumb. If PR3 used the same art style as PR2 than I'm sure it would be 10x better. Consider that before you release it from the beta.
