Here’s a mirror I hold before me, take a look inside me
tell me what you see.
is there ice?
is there fire?
is there hate?
in the end all you’ll find is nothing more the emptiness;
another mirror, just treflecting the outside
you wont find any trust in there, no love, no joy
no gratitude, no pride, no respect. just another black hole.
Take another look inside of me
what do you hear?
a cry for help?
a curse of hate?
all that echoes around in this empty hole;
it’s nothing more then hollow words
and hopeless lies.
Sing and dance along with what’s inside.
you kids think you know music from the soul.
well sit down and listen to this.
is it your jam? is it ‘sick’? a song you’ll listen to any day,
any time, anywhere, anywhen?
hah, ya, I didn’t think so.
Take yet another look inside me,
tell me what you feel.
is it pitty?
is it joy?
is it loneliness?
or do you really feel anything?
are you just another shell like I?
I’ll spare you a mirror, take a look inside.
what do you see?
it’s you, holding your own mirror
for all to see, but i guess
the real question is. what do you see?
it’s not inside me, no inside someone else,
take a look inside yourself. what do you see?
the same blackness inside of me;
filled by a thousand reflections of mirrors long forgotten.
