And I just saw Tower Defense 3D… this seems to be a trend. You’re not thinking about the frustration the player might experience… yes, these games are innovative and very different, but those qualities dont guarantee a fun game, and in the end thats really what matters to the player… not how new, neat, creative, or unusual a game is… but is it fun.

The thing about the “showdown round”…

You may have thought it would be fun or creative to ‘be different’ and design your game with no ending, but rather an unbeatable final round… however, the player simply doesn’t like this. You have to keep the player in mind when you design a game… no one’s going to like a game that is literally made impossible to win. Thats why you get as many complaints as you do. You could have figured out another way to have a tricky ending.
