I cannot wait until Chapter 2 comes out and will be checking back in with you in 8 days :D Good Luck! show less

Anyways, there seems to only be one viable option to beat endurance, which is making a tower with 8 amps and a manafarm trap with 6 amps, getting a grade 30 yellow/lime/red gem and then ctrl click on the wavestones… This method also works on all levels (even without the mana trap) if you play on anything without endurance. Which made me think about this: You don’t have to think what to do if your level is high enough, you don’t need a slowing trap in key places and you don’t need to be a tactical thinker for your towerplacement… You just need to find the spot that gives you the maximum number of possible amps without blocking monsterpaths, since the range of the gem will cover the entire field when it’s grade 8 already with some amps. So basically, the strategic effect is a bit weakened once you hit a certain level. Maybe that’s some material to think about when designing the next awesome game in the series :p Love your games, bye :) show less

Placing a shrine in a stage can make the whole dynamics of the stage entirely different, with the shrine being what it should be, a good support building. Indeed, placing 8 amps and a tower was the ultimate “strategy” for beating any stage in GCL, I’m aware of it and will aim to make things different in GC2. @almos Thanks! :-) show less

On the other hand, making a future reboot or “Xth anniversary edition” of any of our former games is not off the table, although I have many game ideas to pursue so I’m not sure if going backwards would be worth the time. show less

I do have something to ask though and I am not sure how hard it would be to incorporate into a future Gencraft game, and that is with “setting priority” for gems. I love being able to set priority but when it comes to structures I have a gripe. At that setting it seems to default to a mana vault first then a monster hut/house/habitat/cave. I noticed this on field B4 the first time. After a few runs of it, it seems that it will always default to the mana vaults then to the monster hut/house/habitat/cave. If it is not that much trouble and if people think that it would be a good feature to add/upgrade, would it be possible to integrate a means of selecting what structure is the priority structure. I mean if you have a gem in a tower with a mana vault, a monster hut/house/habitat/cave, and a beacon around it, what would be nice is to be able to select priority to structures then be able to click a structure so that it is the priority structure. I just say this because on B4 if I place a tower by the mana vault and by the monster hut/house/habitat/cave it will always go for the mana vault first rather then destroy the primary threat of the monster hut/house/habitat/cave. Sorry for rambling on like this but I think that this might be a nice little tweak to add, but I do not have much flash programming skills so I am not sure how hard it would be to implement. At any rate, I love the Gemcraft games and I have gotten my 10 year old daughter started playing them also with me. She loves when I explain the math behind certain gem builds and why you place traps at certain places. We are both pretty addicted and favor Gemcraft more now over our 360 and PS3. Lastly the price of 5 bones for the premium is great. I would gladly pay 10 bones just because of the replay value and options that you have to toy with. So thank you for the great game and work that you have done. I know a lot of planning needs to go into these games to design paths and the sort. IF you ever need a beta tester with excellent writing skills and critical thinking and conclusion skills please hit me up as I would love to help with the development in any way I could offer. If you want I can create a video of what I am trying to explain if I didn’t come across clear enough. I think I did but If you need a visual aid just ask and I will get it to you. Thanks for a great game and great way to waste my time. :) show less

Thanks for sharing your idea, I’ll think about it (I’d like to keep the priority options at a minimum, but what you wrote also seems useful and sometimes even critical). However after reading recently, I feel as if maybe GC2 might be a bit of a let down. A step back-words if you will. Some of the ideas you have are great, but the other ones make me think some ( maybe alot ) of people might dislike. In my own opinion I think the 12 Gem grades should stay, along with creating shrines. This really gives the game more depth, just in my own opinion. ( However I did see that you might be able to create them via other mechanics ) Which if that was true, then I guess I cant rant over it. And over the Recent Screenshot of GC2, I noticed the Gem creation and Hotkey / Spell icons are sorta bland. They are colorfull, but they look rather bad. I personally love the GCL White-out spells and color gem icons, I think you should implement the same into GC2. On the other hand, I think the other Tweaks and fixs, like the monster-shown per tile and 9X speed upgrades are great, otherwise then my opinions, keep up the good work! show less

Shrines still won’t be buildable (not because I want to downgrade the feature variety of the sequel but because they were too overpowered in mass production and stopped being special and precious), but there will be many player-attainable powers to compensate for that. Also, grade 12 gems (and above) will stay, I can’t remember telling otherwise, but sorry if I was unclear. Gem icons got more polished too since then. :-)

Jan 16, 2012 7:43am You should make an Anti-GemCraft (doen’t necessarily have to be a full game like the others); you would control the mosters and you would be able to plant beacons and paths.

Apart from that, I have some game ideas already waiting to become games (keeping me busy for many years), after the still many months to go working on GemCraft: Chasing Shadows. show less

Apr 27, 2011 8:56pm You should make the premium section free. True developers make games to entertain people, not to make money. If you wanna make money making games, why don’t you join Blizzard. Disrespect not intended, but having to pay for good parts of a game is not cool. Not cool at all.

Some random thoughts/answers on some of the comments above: Yes, this is our full time job. No, we don’t earn $5k per month from ads (or even all things combined), I wish one day we did :-) . No, we’re not millionaires and don’t live in a particularly rich country (we’re located in Hungary). I agree major game sites should remove the “free online games” tag, but don’t agree all online games should be free. If I don’t like something or think it’s too expensive, I simply don’t buy it, but don’t write complaints to, say, Lego, to sell their products at a 99% discount because I want them all. Yes, Kingdom Rush’s premium stuff can be bought for $.99, but even so some players are still complaining on their blog. Yes, I know many people don’t have any money left over to spend on such things as games after their monthly living expenses. For most of my life I had far better things to spend $5 on than a game too, and even now the only $50 pricetag game I bought in years is StarCraft II, I usually buy indie games (Limbo, Defense Grid, Braid, Creeper World). I wish one day neither of you would have to choose between spening $5 on entertainment or food/clothes/electricity. Again, thanks for all of you who supported us! show less

Cause I personally don’t like to donate, unless theres something of equal value in return, and having premium content I feel justifies even .99 cents, or even 4.99.
