I also encountered the issue with being sent back to the menu screen. It occurred when I was at the screen with the cafe sign and came in from the right side and accidentally walked back really quickly (while I was trying to jump the platforms) and then bam--menu screen. :(

If you keep pouring in a glass with ice the ice magically floats up! No spills! I couldn't get the olive to work either. :/
