Really enjoyable game, but I found the controls quite infuriating. Anything involving rotating the level or a cassette was really irritating and imprecise. A keyboard shortcut would really have helped.
I'm on my 12th portal, having just been up (not for the first time) until 4am trying to get one of the speed achievements without losing 8 hours going to bed. *Now* I notice the Settings menu, and the 'Pause everything' button therein. Doh!
No skill whatsoever involved apart from on the rocket section. Magnet is quite glitchy when it comes to letters. Gates vanish for no reason. If you miss the first couple of clouds on the pogo stage you can fall the whole way to the bottom. Overall, grindy and repetitive.
The scoring system makes no sense. You can get 3 stars while missng half the words, or two stars after getting them all and waiting out the timer for 30 seconds. It's nothing to do with how fast you solve it, purely to do with whether you use your rage properly.
If you're getting stuck on a zone: Don't put all your weapons at the front - the ships that get behind you will gradually wear you down. Put a few in the middle row on either side. Do a couple of run throughs with lots of collectors to build up ore, then swap most of them out for extra shields, or damage multipliers. But leave some high capacity ones in to pick up repairs.
Could use a quit or restart option; maybe some upgrades; better visual feedback on when you've been hit - playing with no sound it was hard to tell. Maybe a quick switch between two favourite weapons. But apart from those few things, really enjoyed it.
It's quite intriguing, but could use more direction once you get through the initial few paintings and start making enough money that it doesn't really matter. There doesn't seem to be much point beyond buying loads of freeloaders drinks until they're your friends, and then war ruins everything. But it certainly kept me hooked a lot longer than I expected.
Seems to be an issue where pets occasionally stop earning experience (even if they survive the battle and have dealt damage). Have a level 47 Brown Bear with Advanced Life Drain, Advanced Heal and Meditation, and he's stuck on just over 3 million xp. Tried rebirthing, swapping pet out and back, and refreshing game. Is there any kind of limit on pet xp?
