My philosophy is keep what you like from the information given and drop the rest, people do it anyway so you might as well make a concious effort. works for chat rooms too. this is why i never mute anyone, everyone has atleast one good thing to say no matter how hard they try not to. this doesn't mean i let people say whatever they want, it just means i don't get offended when people attack me, when someone's being disruptive or attacking my friends i have no problems whatsoever with bringing a mod in to put a stop to it.
