Sorry for the spam; I reached the 1000 char limit. Anyways, continuing. Fourth, some sot of uncrossable beam that blocks off a direction. The only way to pass it would be to destroy it's linked turret/generator somewhere off to the side. Fifth, a possible way to disable 2 of the 3 team depots by destroying several linked turrets. The one directly behind the core would be invincible, of cource. One more concept, unbalenced yet fair maps with different objectives for each team. For example, a seige senario. Team A has much more effective defences, while team B has a much higher NPC spawn rate plus a weapon power boost for each team member. Team A has to vigorously defend themselves and either destroy team B's core, or survive X amount of time. I also suggest more types of NPC ships on other maps.
When it comes to the concept of the creation of other maps, I sure do hope it happens. It shouldn't be limited to the features of the map we already have however, so here are some ideas for new features. One, an offensive structure that depletes the enemy core's shields. When the game starts off, all of the players must rush to destroy the enemy shield disuptors, as your own shields would be losing 5 or 6 points at a time. Two, remember how in Star Wars when Luke flies down the Death Star's trench to fire down a ventilation shaft? How about something similar, with a long trench edged with turrets? Three, instead of just the slowing barriers, we use something like the CLaW loadouts from th Iron Wolf? A large rotating cylinder with say, 4 beams lashing out a 90 degree angles. Being caught by a beam would slow and slightly deplete your energy.
Upgrage a missile frabricator to level 4, and open all of the missile tiers. Buy 25 nukes, equip them, and replay a level while you wait or them to build up. As nukes fire more slowly than other missiles, you will be able to cotinuously fire them and never run out, as your missile creator produces faster than your firing. Good way to save millions!
Another idea for facilities, give the vehicle bay the option to build actual vehicles and walkers. Let them count as crew, with the race being'robotic'. Set a small cap for larger ships to make sure that you can't have too many at once. Instead of melee, ranged, or healer, call it 'vehicle', or something like that. There could be new ships created to carry them as well.
