Beschreibung

TDS DK is short for Top-Down Shooter Development Kit. The TDS DK is a scripting framework written for top-down shooters, although many of its core systems can be adapted to a variety of genres, including first-person shooters and role-playing games. The instructions serve as an overview of major gameplay features.

You can find the TDS DK "here":http://u3d.as/content/ethereal-entertainment/tds-dk-top-down-shooter-development-kit.

The TDS DK features demo assets by Hao yang Wang. The A* Pathfinding Project has also been integrated for enemy navigation.

Spielanleitung

This demo features melee and ranged enemies attacking over 15 waves, divided into 3 sets of 5 waves. Wave composition is the same for each set, but enemy health and damage are increased between sets.

For a list of all controls, press Escape to pause the game, then view the Keybinds menu.

A variety of common weapons are featured in the TDS DK, including the Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Flamethrower, Minigun, Grenade Launcher, and Rocket Launcher. All of these can be acquired on the demo map.

Although weapons are the primary means of damaging enemies, players can open the Buy Menu (from the Escape menu) to purchase abilities. Abilities are triggered by the player and can be offensive, defensive, or utilitarian, like spells in a fantasy RPG. Special types of abilities can be targeted at specific enemies or ground positions.

Also accessed from the Escape menu is the Upgrades Menu. Players can purchase upgrades for themselves or their abilities, similar to talent or skill trees in MMORPGs. The more upgrades a player purchases, the further they advance into the tree. Cryo Blast is the only ability with an upgrade tree in this demo.

Finally, adrenaline is used to unleash powerful effects, inspired by Unreal Tournament 2004. Players earn adrenaline by killing enemies or finding pickups; combos can be triggered at 100 adrenaline.
