To anyone having trouble with the date format, it does list them in order on the right of the note that you get from the printer. I suppose if you lived in Europe or were used to that date format, you could solve it without the printer puzzle, but I think it is actually intended to be a weird format, so that you have to go through the printer puzzle to finish the game.
