Entwickler-Updates

Feb 26, 2009 7:59am

3/2/2009:
- Sped up the player ship’s movement and firing rate to give the game a more fast-paced feel.
- Implemented separated high scores for the different difficulty modes.
- New method of posting updates as you can see.

3/01/2009, 11:21 PM – Improved the efficiency of the preloader and fixed a few more graphical glitches.

3/01/2009, 6:56 PM – Ugh… most brutal update yet. Fixed that stupid bug that freezes you with the GameOver screen after loading and also fixed a bunch of other graphical glitches. The biggest feature I’ve added is a power-up meter which will tell you how long your current power-up will last. Enjoy!

3/01/2009, 1:20 PM – Fixed numerous small bugs and implemented Pause and Quit functions! These are explained on the updated Help page. I’ve also tweaked the balance of the enemies for the different difficulties.

3/01/2009, 12:45 AM – Shrunk the size of power-ups, updated the Credits and Options pages, implemented Normal Mode which is much more challenging than Easy Mode and made the final Boss more difficult since he was being outclassed by the Mini-Boss. More to come soon!

2/28/2009, 1:32 AM – Gave all the power-ups their own individual images and updated the Help page with information on each one, along with better instructions.

2/27/2009, 2:22 PM – Added in some sweet new explosion graphics by Jimmy to replace the crappy ones I made. Now I’m going to work on putting in a Pause function and Preloader! EDIT: Preloader added!

It's good... But needs more things to make it less "robotic" like instead of every time you kill a ship getting 50 points, you need some kind of multiplier for the score, like if you avoid getting hit and kill some in a row you should get more points. I really like the way the health bars run down towards the center instead of to the left.

Eh. I rate games based off of no different standard, so I gave this game a one, which is quite rare from me. It's a boring, shallow, and poorly executed game. I realize this a first game, made from a tutorial, but that does not influence my scores. I've seen a lot of "first games" that were comparatively fantastic, so. Hoping it's somehow a lot better on the second.
