Basic Shootorial Attempt

Very good start. One thing is, thatyou have way too low health. Maybe make you and the enemeies have higher health. Make the bullets go a little bit slower and your ship is kind of big, so you get hit often. But, besides that, for your first, 4/5 definately.

The art is ugly but the code works, which is a good start considering a lot of people have trouble getting through the shootorials with even that. I laud your effort of trying to learn AS3 instead of AS2. You could have easily improved the background loop simply by copying the image and flipping it horizontally, then doubling your NEW image like the shootorials instruct (like this: <><>). Stick to it: AS3 and Flash are well worth knowing!

I am glad that you are not just another source downloader, but you actually learned. I have to say that the background does not loop well. Besides that, 4/5 JUST for effort.

*claps* Flawed no doubt, boring, no doubt, rubbish - no doubt. Yet that isn't the problem at the beginning. A good start. Now improve on that.

it is possible to hide at the left side, be able to kill enemies and yet enemies are not able to kill you. Add a code to prevent leaving the gamescreen.
