HINT: You can make 12 wings at a time for any customer, even if they don't order that many. Then, you have as many as you need at any time! It really helps to keep the flow going :).
For the medium badges, I found that 2-3 basic monkeys at the start (1-2 upgraded to pop 2 at once) can get you through to the first banana factory. Then, a cannon, then the 120 banana upgrade, then a spike factory at the end, then the 250 banana upgrade, then planes/cannons/ships, upgrading the banana factory up to 500 production as quickly as you can (possibly add a second factory). Planes and ships are the most powerful units in the game from my experience, with a few cannons (upgraded to MOABs) near the start set to target Strong to help with the blimps at level 45+. I got both medium badges w/o kreds rather easily this way.
To those who are not getting the medium badge: I was in the same boat, playing earlier this morning. Right now, I returned and got it. So, you might have to reload the page to get it...

@ All who are talking about saving issues: Are you using Chrome? If so, you might need to disabled protected flash mode. That issue has caused saving issues for me in the past, and when I disabled it, it worked again (dunno if it affects this game, first time playing this one).
