Kongregate player icons aren't showing up. I know this was a problem for the main game; just thought I'd let you know it's popped up here too.

Second comment: linen is made from HEMP? Really? All those flax growers through the ages must be kicking themselves right now. (Either that, or all my villagers are so high they don't realize they're wearing sail-cloth.)

I considered giving this 4 or 5 stars, but it's just sooooo sloooooow to load. A game that's unplayable only because its graphics are too complicated for a Flash game...is still unplayable.

It's probably too late to matter, but -- 1. solar panels should not require generators. The whole point of solar is that it converts sunlight directly (if inefficiently) to electricity. 2. Boiler houses should be available much earlier in the game -- perhaps replacing heat sinks, since nobody bothers with them. 3. It's not "isolation", it's "insulation".

Ah, yes, the Rich Battle Hummer. Most feared of all the weapons on a fantasy battlefield.

First, when you click "Start" to actually fly your spaceship around in space, it takes you off Kong and logs you into Bigpoint's own site. Second, the tutorial is garbage, especially when explaining features (like "configurations") introduced post-2010. I'm writing this in 2016, and this is a real problem. Third -- and most importantly -- your own faction's players have no compunction about murdering you, so you never get a chance to grind, much less attack the enemy faction. Any one of these problems would be tolerable; three of them is unacceptable.

The red/Exile ships...are they supposed to keep flying after their health bars are empty, or is that a bug?

From the other player comments, it's clear I'm not the only one who encountered glitches. And the game DESPERATELY needs some kind of save feature. This is not a finished game, and Kong should have waited until it got past "v 0.5" to publicize it on its front page.

For the next update, could you please make the female Intimidate sound more...intimidating?

This game's potential is outweighed by all the frustration. "Subsidiary territories" are ridiculous, and "loudspeakers" doubly so. There are at least 5 different types of currency -- metal, gold, helium, mall points, and vouchers -- which is 3 or 4 types too many. I've hammered away at Instance 1 dozens of times and I still haven't found a Wanderer-class frigate, which is supposed to be one of the most basic in the game; I shudder to think what the drop rate for a mid-level cruiser is. The "development quests" are apparently endless. The tutorial isn't NEARLY in-depth enough for a game this complicated. Finally...everybody in space has their cleavage out? Really?

I wish there was a tip in "Game > Instructions" which told you exactly what "adjacent" means. (That is, only left-right-up-down, not diagonals.) I've been building solar panels with no access to generators for a good half-hour now.

So this is a fairly popular game, on multiple platforms. Is there a Wikia site for it yet? (Or even a general SoulGame Wikia?)

Developer Reply

Actually no! I hope at some point our games will be famous enough to have their own Wikia, that would be awesome :)

I would swap out the axe with another halberd-style weapon. The axe works fine with the slashing animation, but with the thrusting animation, it just looks like you're poking them.

Developer Reply

Yeah indeed! I wish I had the time to make more animations

My character can't stop jumping when the game opens, and then when he gets to that first treasure chest, he can't leave. Maybe I'm the only person this is happening to?

I might just be speaking for myself, but it would be easier to get into the game with a wider variety of level 1-5 weapons. I understand that giving dual Gatlings and light MRLs to the n00bz would be a Dreadful Thing, but has the technology to make single Gatling guns and one-shot missiles somehow been lost in the past 1,200 years?

Hmm. My samurai seem confused by archers; they just stand there and take arrows to the face. And about one-in-five of my spearmen walk backwards. Is anyone else having these problems?

I get that there should be some variable to decrease church membership, but I wouldn't call it "Literacy". Christians can read too, you know. ;) Speaking of Christianity, you should probably specify that this is a Catholic church. Otherwise, players might wonder what the Vatican has to do with anything. Also, it's not clear from the tutorial page how (or if) you can raise happiness and population, or who the three gentlemen in the town of Manchurster are. As for the bribes you're supposed to offer these gentlemen, it would be nice if there was a small chance that your parishoners might catch wind that you're offering bribes, and you suffer a drop in either conservative members or all members. Church-folk tend to frown on *obvious* hypocrisy. To offset that, you might either make the bribes cheaper or more beneficial.

This is one of those games you like more as you play it. By the time I got to the part where "On the Zenith did General Rahn/A robot pleasure dome decree", I was hooked. ;)

I'm really grateful to Iriysoft for updating the sounds. I couldn't stand using the Chilling Crypt in v. 1, because the fear-screams were just so annoying. Now I can unlock the power of Fear, and imagine my little Overlord cackling like Vincent Price in "Thriller" every single game. Which is nice.

Regarding the "Outta My Way!" badge: the car/jeep moves so quickly that you have no time to dodge enemy buildings and vehicles. And because enemies are placed randomly on the map -- at least as far as I can tell -- whether you travel 300 meters or 1,000 is pure luck. Assuming Iriysoft isn't going to go back to a year-old game and slow the car/jeep down by 25-33%...whoever's in charge of badges at Kongregate should adjust this one. Maybe it could be awarded for 600-700 meters, or maybe it could be made a Hard badge to reflect the hours and hours you have to put in, hoping to get lucky.
