Instructions:
Press Space to spawn dolls. Other hotkeys are in the hotkey list in the menu on the right.
Open the Save Menu by pressing Esc. You can save, load and share creations there.
Open the Colour/Keymap Menu with Enter. You can change some of the visuals and modify your keymapping there.
Shoot weapons with the same key you spawn them with, 0-9 by default.
Read the ingame helps for more detailed info.
AND, people who say that sometimes moving from square to square doesn't work- The entire wall has to match, not just the hole you're trying to go through.

Tip for almost instant town destruction-
1) Once you have the extra infection click, use both to infect the middle, and the side of the town.
