Yup, feel bad about this but the energy system is not the direction I want to see Kongregate games going and I feel it ruins a potentially very enjoyable game. Gotta 1/5 this.
Fantastically creative concept but it needs some polish to fix balance issues and make a little more strategic possibility for the player -- seems too tight and too punishing right now, with too much determined by random chance and not really giving us a chance to be clever. 3/5 but I look forward to a more developed sequel -- the match-3/TD hybrid is a really clever idea and you seem to be most of the way there.
You know you have a winner when all the top comments are intentionally silly questions about the game premise. :) Great job, 5/5, will play way too much of this.
Actually, after playing it for a bit, I felt bad for one-starring it for censorship... so I one-starred it for being another cookie-cutter, intensely derivative, shop-driven MMO with unbelievably uninteresting mechanics.
One-starred it as soon as it wouldn't let me call my character something "Lass" because it contained "ass." F*** censorship. I hate, hate, hate apps that stop me from doing something innocent because someone else might be doing something offensive.
Lots of unnecessary, distracting features (like the puzzle minigames, which totally break the flow of the action game) and mechanics that don't scale well at all, but it's still a decent shooter game otherwise and I'd like to see more of it. This is 3/5, but I wish I could give it 3.5. I'd give a smoother sequel a 4 or 5, easily.
Buggy, and being shown the mobile unlocks without being able to select them is kind of like having your parents take back all but one of your birthday presents. :P But I still really like this game, and would love to see an expanded sequel. I never felt like the challenge level quite took off, but I definitely was left wanting more.
I really don't get why people are bitching about the coin mechanic. It doesn't contribute much to the game, but it doesn't detract anything for me either.
Oh, and of all the things you should NOT be trying to be cute about... nagging us to hit a freakin' Facebook button is not one of them. Get that damn thing out of our face or at least have the decency to be quiet about it.
After one play I was about to give this a 3/5 for being a clever if somewhat wanky art game, good effort but NOT my thing. But I saw good comments, so I gave it another shot. By the end of that game I realized I HATED purple and wanted to see it die. 4/5. By the end of the next game, when I accidentally killed green and felt really awful about it, 5/5.
Thank GOD I'm not the only one having trouble getting the units coordinated. If it's not just me... yeah, this is the basis of a really really awesome game, but it's too flawed for me to enjoy at the moment. More UI and AI fixed or a tighter sequel could get a 5/5 out of me real easily. For now, 3/5.
I'll say the same thing I do about all these pay-to-play games: get this moneygrubbing garbage off of Kongregate. There are plenty of companies with reasonable premium models, and I don't begrudge them for it. But this is ridiculous. I just don't care about your crappy little Flash game enough to make a major hobby about it, and there's really no reason why I should. One star, with extreme prejudice.
Thanks!
