The origin of the term spam comes from a Monty Python sketch called “The Spam Shop.” In it, two customers are in a restaurant, and all the items on the menu have spam in them. This brings up chaos as the woman ordering doesn’t like spam (as her frequent shouts of “I DON’T LIKE SPAM!!!” would imply) and vikings on either side of the room start up a chant every time the word spam is uttered. Because of this sketch, the word spam came to mean any unwanted, repetitive, annoying, and usually nonsensical thing that is annoying and frequently repeated. XD For more information go to the below mentioned link, which is a video of the aforementioned Monty Python sketch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur5nE5uTa6s Activity FeedA_Spam_Viking has not published any activity yet.Would you like to post a shout to welcome them to Kongregate? |
