I think you have some serious rounding errors. If you buy enough multipliers, it eventually becomes quicker to increase production.

I reached 200k altitude, but I wasn't registered as having beaten Story mode? Do I need to get higher?

Seems to be a bug where item attributes won't remain from item to item. IE: Set an item to size 50, select another item. Item size in menu goes back to 100.
